  • Luckily for me, that's something I'm not into.

Anyway, I watched Inglorious Basterds for the 800th time today. I love that movie and I like to think that's how Hitler really did bite the dust. (I studied WWII extensively during year 12, I know it's not what really happened).

Tomorrow I'm going to watch Atonement one of the best book to film adaptations in recent times.

I love cinema, except the arm and a leg I have to give up every time I go to see a movie.

    Also, I love trivia.

A friend loaned me the Inglorious Barstards DVD and I started watching it yesterday only to be called out unexpectedly after 10 minutes - geez I hate that. Will probably have to wait until this weekend now to start over again.

Went to see 'Bright Star' on Friday night - a movie about the life of John Keats the poet.

Brilliantly acted movie, Abbie Cornish and John Wishaw were perfectly cast. Rather dark and sombre in parts but well worth watching.

      • Saw Sherlock Holmes while in Melb & really enjoyed it. Can see a couple of sequels happening.

Inglorious Bastards was vintage Tarantino...I loved it...Atonement is also an awesome WW2 movie...although it's not a military action movie as such it's story line is brilliant...

I'd do Kierra on the ladder too...

I love war films with a storyline other than the death of millions of men, it's one of my favourite films. I'm also glad I read the book before I saw the film, it came to life brilliantly.

You can have Keira, I'll take James McAvoy. Deal?

                • Even though I wasn't keen on seeing Avatar and went into it thinking it was going to be so much like Pocahontas, I started bawling halfway through the film and was so into it. We saw it in 3D and I thought that was just bloody amazing.

                  • Finally went to see Avatar as well, and in 3D as suggested. Well worth making one of my irregular visits to a mainstream cinema.

The effects are just amazing, and despite a rather limited storyline, the film really gets you in.

Getting to perve on Sam Worthington helped. And how good does Sigourney Weaver for her age, and I'm not sure there's too much 'plastic' involved either.

And I finally got to watch Inglorious Barstards on DVD this afternoon and it is a really engrossing film as well. Well worth watching.

Now I just have to watch The Wrestler that's been sitting in my cabinet unwatched for ages. Maybe next weekend.

                          • Saw It's Complicated Friday night and really enjoyed it. Perfect end of week entertainment.

Am attempting to watch The Wrestler on DVD but the DVD is not playing nice with my DVD player, so I've given it up as a lost cause - it keeps stopping and the picture is very distorted. I'll give the DVD to someone else to watch to see if it works for them, as I'm not sure if its the DVD or my player.

                            • try washing the dvd in warm soapy water then dry it with a hair dryer? or very soft cloth.

                              • OK, Stephen J will do. Can't do any harm I suppose. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'll try that for next weekend. I must say I'm over it at the moment. I get frustrated sometimes when the simple things don't go right - I should just be able to put the DVD in the machine and watch it.
