However when you state things for eg. Obama was a failure when it came to addressing unemployment, or China's economic rise coincided with Biden's time in the senate in the 80's....thats stating something that is not true and is easy to debunk- Ronald Reagan was the President in the 80s and Republican George H W Bush was the Senate President for the majority of Reagans 2 terms. To come back with "we learn from sources we can rely from and if you believe your sources are right, then that's good enough, for you!" it's just saying you don't really care for facts-that your opinion is what matters.
When i make a mistake on something and its pointed out to me...well i just say yep i was wrong and try to learn why and where i went wrong. For me theres no shame in it
You didn't watch the footy last night? I don't think I read any comments from you so maybe you were working on a reply to my comment about 'having an opinion and sometimes we are right and sometimes we are wrong'...Whats wrong with that? Are you always right? Kudos to you if you are...but writing this reply at around 3:30 am is a little odd that you couldn't let it go...
But to answer some of those topics you raised:
Firstly Kudos to you again for providing those facts re Obamas employment record. I haven't got time to be fact checking you and maybe I didn't heap enough praise on that so here it goes...fabulous work RR for proving me wrong! Is that ok?
But as far as Obamas record and in particular to his record for Black Americans during his 8 years, I listen, see and read what both sides have to say and I have admitted this before that i was a fan and when he came to Brisbane for the G20, an event that I was working at in the media centre, I was in awe when I aw Obama in the room for that fleeting moment, then again Putin was the most popular around town with the crowds. So here i am thinking Obama has been great for all Americans but mostly the black Americans for obvious reasons, but I'm not black living in America so I really don't have an educated opinion about his record as some black Americans see it and since you like to fact check things, maybe go online to You Tube, (yeah Youtube because it's not just about funny videos or the Aussie man reviews. All the media outlets publish their contents there plus podcast etc) and you will find content that MSM will not put on their news service because they want to promote their own agenda. If you believe that they don't have an agenda, then there is no way i will convince you. But back to prominent black Americans who don't think Obama wasn't good for them like Civil rights lawyer Leo Terrell, Candace Owens and Democratic Senator/Congressman from Georgia Vernon Jones. Their opinions matters more to me than some CNN or MSNBC fake news. Fact check all you want, they just don't like Obama. But here are some other articles written by some printed media news service, even one from the Washington Post...OMG!
https://www.latimes.com/projects/la-...can-americans/
“He was too eloquent, too cool, too passive,” Williams said. “I just can't give him a good grade in terms of civil rights for black people. We didn’t get anything, really.”

So after all these years of watching, listening and reading about mr Obama, I think he was great, for the white liberal elites but not all black Americans.
As for Bidens voting for Chinas economic assistance during the Reagan era, well senators and congressmen vote for these decisions but I can't find you the source that I discovered but he did vote on allowing China in the WTO, something this article states as 'a disaster for America'
https://thediplomat.com/2020/09/bide...hina-on-trade/
My point about Biden is that he is too cozy to China (my Opinion) and Australia needs an ally especially during these trade issues and I don't think Biden will go against China and will throw us under the bus. I could be wrong like when we all thought that Trump was going to start WW3 with North Korea (I thought that)...that was one fun ride!
But in reality, does it even matter? Will you sleep better whichever way the cards fall? My point here is why would you be writing a reply to a comment about 'Opinions' at 3:30 in the morning and try and make out that you are the bigger person because you will admit when you are wrong... it's inconsequential. I don't care if you admit it or not, I will still sleep sound and wont hold anything against you because it doesn't matter to me... It's a footy forum FFS, not a forum of political experts, well not in my case but 1 post and 1 undergrad degree in 2 disciplines says to me that I can read, watch, listen and form an opinion whether you agree or not. It's obvious that the left wont listen to the right and visa versa and if you are the bigger person, then accept that because I will accept yours, so stop obsessing.
I have given you the courtesy of a reply, a long reply with some citations, not peer reviewed obviously and taken too much time on this. I don't hang around a topic for 3-4 days straight...That's just crazy! I have made my point and I accept your views, and if you are the bigger person that you aspire to be then you will accept mine.

I don't know why some people think being stubborn is a positive character trait, nor the inability to offer an apology to someone when or if you have done the wrong thing by them. Those types often end up lonely and bitter whereas open minded people like yourself continue to grow and learn all the time and that makes you a positive person to have around and set a good example for your family also. This year certainly has helped me draw a line in the sand in regards to the company I keep and whom I want to keep around me in the future.

None of your links work but i'd be interested in reading them. Great to hear you have a couple of university degrees as it means you would understand the importance of credible sources.
If you would like me to break down some of the points you have made, then just ask and i will do so. If you don't care & want me to be " the bigger person that you aspire to be" then thats ok by me too. Lets talk footy in the footy forums!

What sad mind numbing distractive and dividing thread this is. Some of the stuff on here is absolutely cringeworthy to the point of it almost makes me want to vomit.
Left right, Right left the bottom line is they are no different and when it comes to it they do don’t give a rats arse about you or I. The only real interests they have and serve are their own and they will throw each and every one of us under the bus if they have to in order to serve their own interests.
They can all go and get f....dWhen you trust your television
what you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information
they can bend it all they want

Just read an article about Joey's wife Cindy who is still writing in New York even in her 90's. Her late comedian husband was credited with being the first to say that line.

It's working beautifully now but my friends on here are making me laugh when they tell me that PC is still trying to get my attention by 'quoting' me, not realising that he's on my ignore list so he's wasting his time and energy by following me around on here, not realising his posts are not visible to me. Very quaint of him though to try..he must not understand what 'ignore' means..hope you and your family have a lovely weekend MR and take care..thanks again for asking about me.
