Living life itself comes with inherent risks every day. We need to get over this obsession with a virus and move on.
Get used to it because Chinese style surveillance and population control has clearly been the dream for many of these politicians and rupert for some time now.

I've got pfizer 1 and booked in for pfizer 2 but this whole vaccination passport, vaccination proof and just outright bribery of the population being held hostage to get the vaccinations is pure horseshit.

I really don't care if other people get the jab or not, I made a few jokes in the previous locked thread but at the end of the day if people don't want then I don't care what they do but as a soon to be fully vaccinated person I still can't get on board with all these future "new normals" like QR codes and vaccination passports; traveling the country or visiting a pub/restaurant without showing proof of a vaccination is total horseshit and should not be normalised.

you're right but hospitals being over run by cases could be worse. when we hit 80% everything should open up but if the hospitals get over run then some sort of vaccine passport seems the less worst option

1stly that slag Gladys has been backtracking on her 80 percent remarks or targets. 2ndly Last years lockdown and flatten the curve motto was to prepare the hospitals for a surge in ICU admissions. The State Govts have had 18 months to prepare for something like this and they have done nothing. 3rdly These low life corrupt power tripping mutts in govt are threatening health workers with the sack if they do not get vaccinated at a time they are worried about the hospital system being overloaded.

i'm in favour of ending all lockdowns and reducing restrictions when we hit 80% double dose. 20% unvaccinated can still mean a lot of unwanted business for the hospitals and if that happens then rather than locking down the whole state it makes sense to prevent the spread of the virus amongst the vulnerable (the unvaccinated). when hospital numbers aren't under pressure then everyone could move around freely.
i don't like the idea of vaccine passports or quick testing for the unvaccinated but i like the idea of hospitals getting overrun less

I disagree as it is a threat. But you miss the point. In one sentence they telling us they are worried about, or are going to use hospitals being over run for restrictions and any excuse to discriminate against those who choose not be be vaccinated. Yet in the next they are prepared to sack staff who will not be vaccinated when they are worried about hospitals being over run. Threatening workers with the sack if they do not do somethingto their body whilst at the same time being worried about that very same system being over run are not the actions of a sane employer or in this instance govt. As I said last night some of you have forgotten what it is like or how to be human.

                • it's a tricky one cos people have the right to control their own bodies. you could say someone's right to infect someone else with covid extends to their own mouth or nose but stops at someone else's lungs. or another way of saying it is that their right to do what they want with their own body stops when them doing that clogs the hospitals.
we're a free country and we have rights but they don't include the right to cause harm to someone else.
we're also a democracy and while that shouldn't mean an unthinking rule by the majority over the minority it does mean that an elected govt has the right to bring in laws (and get voted out at the next election)

Agreed and it is the height of selfishness to not take it. Do it for the country.

Do it for others and yourself and your family. Do it for the elderly, the young, your neighbors and friends. Do it for the health care workers, doctors nurses, the guy volunteering, risking his own life to stick a little stick up your nose to make sure you are safe.

Do it for all the businesses, the tradies, food delivery guys. Just do it!

                        • Ok I notice some of the regular suspects and bullies have re appeared with their just do it no matter what or you are selfish. Some even getting nostalgic and emotional with their pleas. Not one of those has answered or addressed a major contradiction that the NSW Stage Govt is doing. Perhaps it is too tough so they have resorted back to their default position.

In one sentence the GOVT are saying they are concerned about hospitals being over run. Yet in the next they are threatening those essential workers within that system with the sack if they are not vaccinated. How on earth are these the actions of officials whom are of sound mind ? Worried about a hospital system being over run but threatening the workers within with the sack if they dont do as they are told. This policy makes zero sense and are not the actions of people of sound mind. Happy for anyone to show me or tell me why they think otherwise.

Let us not forget these same people making these laws as they go along using SOE powers, are the same leaders whom are saying they the politicians are not required themself to be vaccinated. Do as I say not as I do. Do people here think they are selfish or are they happy with such blatant hypocrisy and double standards. I look forward to answers for both questions.

it's a bit beside the point - govts are often going to act inconsistently but that's not a good reason to ignore the medical advice and get the jab.

but if you were going to try to explain the govt's position you might say something like they're bringing in the edict to make sure that those health workers who are wavering about getting the jab take the final plunge.
the other point is that the overwhelming majority of health workers have got the jab or intend to do so

Again its not a threat . A threat would be someone saying they are going to come around and bash you. A choice is when some says they will come around and bash you if you don,t stop being a dickhead. Threat and choice . 2 very different things. And I am not suggesting anything just an example .
As for the people who don't get vaccinated and choose not to work for health anymore because of there choice . Life has consequences , so do choices
