I'll re-iterate a line that Laurie Oakes used back in 1996. He said that the next ALP prime minister wasn't in parliament at that time. He was right, that was KRudd.

Yes and if Labor had not replaced a populist PM with a functioning government they would have been accused of doing so JUST to win an election .
