Rest easy brother in the RWB, I've got your back on the "Yes" thing.

I see that the polls are gradually trending away from "No". Still, most of the Sheeple have yet to think about it, they've been busy focusing on The Voice finalists, the Bathroom reveals, whether the buck tooth meathead farmer will choose the redhead or having their breasts enhanced or getting duckbill lips. Referendum? What referendum?

        • Nah don't watch any of 'em - separate TVs. How some can watch such banality end on end is beyond me. Women are still a mystery.

My ratbag mate and I used try to get backstage at shows. We lasted 15 minutes after a 10CC concert and a bit longer at Cyndi Lauper's.

He snuck backstage at Easts Leagues between sets at Ricky Nelson's gig and then lurched out on stage with a bottle of their Chivas in hand, draped an arm around Ricky's neck halfway through a song screaming "I fcukin' grew up with you!!".

An out of control drunk, he was banned from the Coogee Bay after crash tackling random guys at a George Thorogood concert and then taking exception to the bouncers. Dead now. Pickled liver.

Some in the PEN might remember him, he had a Trivia Show at the Clovelly Hotel in the early 90s but he used to get pissed and abuse the players. Bob Tate (the manager whom some of yez also might know) finally sacked him for not turning up at a big function there. A wild man.

          • I still need my annual fix of MasterChef. I still watch The Block too but it’s beginning to wear thin the past two seasons. As for the rest, I avoid like the plague. Nothing wrong with women watching a bit of escapism on the telly, especially when men are obsessed with sport. Many women hate watching sport actually, but obviously I’m not one of them.

My partner's sentiments exactly. In the long run it doesn't much matter, escapism as you say, but I do notice how much media focuses on the young, they're the spenders.

Yeah the older you get, the more they ignore you. Traditional media is dying anyway. It’s all about social media and instant news and shock these days.

                  • Ive heard that through other sources months ago It seems our MSM begrudgingly reporting it now

Next they will be reporting on the heavy losses they are suffering

Clearly the "allies" are terminally disappointed with the obvious failure of the big offensive. Moon of Alabama has plenty of comment on it from military and other credible sources. Tragic really, the Ukes are dying at a rate of 8:1 and all down to US intransigence re what was a clear provocation in the first place.

In hindsight we can see what happened - after Russia reasserted itself under Putin's leadership, the US went about destabilising the Ukraine's Russian aligned government resulting in the all too familiar regime change to an ultra nationalist right wing Western Ukrainian group which would happily go along with NATO membership. There have been opportunities to end the carnage which the US has rejected and despite best efforts - devastating sanctions , attempts to destabilise the rouble, massive military aid, propaganda etc - nothing has worked for them. Russia has seemingly won hands down.

The most ominous sign for the Ukes is that the Republican House zealots, who are "America First" and isolationist, are wanting to cease all military aid. Ironically, the Democrats, like our ALP, are the warmongers.

Well we should see a conclusion to this invasion very soon. Going to start holding your breath?

The "Republican House Zealots" consists of MAGA Matt Gaetz, Majorie Taylor Green, Lauren Boebert, Jim Banks and 3 or 4 other twits who will always push for chaos anywhere they can until their cult leader is returned to president- or even Speaker of the House Hahaha. Ironically a Trump victory in 2024 will be the end for Ukraine - he is the "peace" hero you will be cheering on.

Meanwhile its reported that China was some serious economic woes that includes a plunging real estate market and extremely high youth unemployment, local government debt & a massive rise in funding health in a aging population. Im guessing this is all MSM propaganda?

                          • Another of the West-domiciled tokenistic Marxist Comrade Paddo's Russia-calling rants

Should be inserting after each post "Posted on behalf of the Russian government, the Kremlin Moscow."

More of the it's the big bad Wests Fault bollocks again from the brainwashed Marxist.

Oh it's on Menadue's Malarkey and Full Moon over Alabama so it has to be true

You don't need hindsight to know that the Russian Federation started this war, as they, like Comrade Paddo, are still stuck in the Cold War era.

The Soviet Union/Warsaw Pact is no more, despite Putin's attempts to resurrect them, and countries such as Ukraine are no longer controlled by Moscow, and as an independent sovereign state, they are free to decide to join any organisation they so wish, whether it be the EU or NATO.

The conclusion to the war will be interesting and also potentially frightening. This is yet another in a succession of US failures and it's a biggie if Russia "wins". The US is rapidly losing credibility as a selfless world leader. Despite the blanket propaganda, people are starting to rely more on the evidence of their own eyes, seeing it as the ruthless hegemon it has always been. It's horrifying to think that some ruse will be resorted to so that NATO can be deployed.

Most probably a truce will lead to an agreement hyped as a victory and as usual, the sheeple will believe it because, in reality, the masses in the West have no interest apart from shopping. Certainly they have no geo- political interest that goes beyond goodies and baddies.

What's happening in the US's great political divide is the legacy of that nutty Tea Party movement. Ratbag amateurs being elected. We saw something similar here when the sheeple elected a bunch of Hansonistas in Qld a few years back.

How could the China "experts" in Western media reach the conclusion that China will collapse when it still had a GDP growth rate of more than 5 percent last year and the first eight months of this year while the major developed countries grew between zero and 3 percent?

The Western media also publish stories about “China collapse” even after the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund confirmed China remains the most powerful engine for the world growth.

And some Western politicians point their fingers at China, claiming it will soon collapse when international poll results for years have shown the Chinese government enjoys one of the highest citizens’ approval ratings: a satisfactory rate of more than 90 percent among its citizens.

                              • Whoops I almost Forgot - Comrade Paddo should insert "posted on behalf of the CCP Beijing China" after his China Calling Posts

Oh my, not that debunked survey again—36,000 surveyed over 13 years by a CCP-approved organisation.

Next, Comrade Paddo will be telling us all in another of his China Calling posts that China has democratic elections, freedom of the press , association and religion etc etc.

A ruthless Russian hegemon as seen in Chechnya, Georgia. Donbas, Crimea, and the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Comrade Paddo, like his hero Putin, is stuck in the Cold War era and brainwashed by Marxism. They just cannot understand that when countries are independent and sovereign states, they decide their own futures by way of the governments that are democratically elected by the citizens of those countries.
