    * A "one source wonder"? The website that I mostly refer to features a wide variety of sources. Most comment on it comes from within contributors' fields of expertise unlike your contributions drawn from Netflix. Further, its appeal has grown astoundingly over a short time. The Intelligentsia have grown weary of, and impatient with, our MSM owned as it is by a controlling right wing elite.
No it really is a history lesson. There is no historical "evidence" for the current state of affairs. You may wish to draw parallels and believe there is a connection, but that is merely your opinion, which you are entitled to......but it is not evidence.

Im not going to bag Pearls and Irritations ( i do read it weekly-it fits the budget)- but like all media outlets it's far from balanced- the contributors are all chirping the same tune more or less. If you want treat it like a Gospel then thats your choice.

I apologise if my over 60s comment offended- it was just a little jab back at your " pious lecture" backhander. Sometimes you got to duck and weave, but it's all good

    • With respect Randy, if you go before a magistrate charged with speeding and you plead not guilty citing your record, the fact that you have list of priors for speeding would be seen as evidence that you are again guilty - circumstantial, but evidence nonetheless. Chris Dawson can attest to that.

My contention is that the US is guilty of provoking this war. It has priors galore ergo the history lesson.

Sorry but I didn't see any "over 60" comment but no biggie. The ad hominem stuff is commonplace here and, anyway, you argue better than most.

      • Comrade Paddo, your pro-Russia, China, and anti-West sentiments are purloined from Menadue's Malarkey, which is hardly what you would call an unbiased source of information on any matter.

I am surprised that you are not posting links to articles from the TASS Russian News Agency site.

You readily admit you know nothing of the politics or economies of Russia and China, but no matter what they do, it's somehow the Big Bad West's fault and especially the USA's.

You're a wannabe Marxist and even fail at that. Just full of hot air.

Russia calls on Palestine and Israel to cease fire. Mmm, how about Russia withdrawing all military, private militias, and military contractors from Ukraine?

There's nothing to explain because I'm neither them nor on that website.

Do you often cyberstalk people on the internet?

So, there is another forum dweller who refers to Drew Hutchison as ‘the mercurial Hutchinator’?

When you got banned, I was worried for your welfare. Someone put out an APB on you. Another penster found you

              • Congratulations to Vladdy Putin who secured a record 87% of votes and a 5th term as president!

Unlucky for his genuine opponents, who were either kicked off the ballot or kicked off the planet

Putin was duly congratulated by Xi, Kim Jung, Lukashenko & Ali Khamenei just to name a few of the worlds most popular self proclaimed democratic leaders. All Putin needs is for his lapdog The Don to win the 2024 US election and its checkmate for Ukraine....icing on the cake!

Here's Al Jazeera's take on the Russian election. I dare not use a west msm source!

Oiling up the propaganda machine to lead us into us along with a few others into a war with Russia

Im sure Zelensky would love to have a election now if it was possible.

There is no political movement in Ukraine- he would win easily. However theres zero chance of a election when 20% of your country is occupied ( although that 20% "participated" in the Russian election with the polling stations run by armed soldiers). Then there's 8 million refugees of which 60% are eligible to vote- how do you find them and ensure their vote is secure? Plus the costs of previous presidential and government Ukrainian elections have have been over 250 million, at a time when the Ukrainian GDP is minus 40 billion. Also securing polling stations would be difficult anywhere outside of Kiev.

Trying to have a election when you've been invaded....has any country ever done it??

No one will go to war with Russia- 5580 nuclear weapons they have will ensure that!

And why would you want to use a Western msm source? They lied to you about WMDs, Tiananmen Square, the Uighur "persecution", the cause of the war in Ukraine. They don't defend Assange and they are anti Palestinian. Why would you? But then again you don't seem to seem to reconsider anything, clinging desperately to what's washed through your brain for a lifetime. And you keep on with this "democracy" bullshit as though the word trumps everything even reason.

Any dispassionate opinion would concede that Putin is immensely popular with the Russian working class. They see him as having confronted and dealt with the US led rapine and economic chaos that loomed in the 90s and they also see him as being uncompromising with regard to their security. Unlike the bullshit concern about our "national security", Putin doesn't mince words and he's managed to cower NATO and the US with his threats. They also admire his brilliant counter to the extreme sanctions pressure that the US confidently applied with the connivance of other toady Western nations. Russia's booming and the West's come another gutser.

In every vox pop I saw, including last night's anti Russia 4 Corners, ordinary Russians were strongly favourable towards him. Maybe they're smarter than us who are routinely led by the nose, with our touching belief in our biased msm. Honest academic opinion says that he would have had a similar result no matter who ran in opposition.

Who knows what happened to Navalny? Our msm certainly don't but the reaction is 100% predictable. Russia is our power elite's enemy because it is the US's enemy. It doesn't take much nous to see through that. Aristotle warned us to be always skeptical.

                            * MR. The 13% are those seen on the Al Jezeera report. Most of them attracted to the celebrity Navalny wife. Nongs are everywhere.

                            • Below I include Paul Keating's piece on the upcoming visit of the Chinese Foreign Minister. Keating is a giant. Almost single handedly he is taking on the pro US war mongering rich who own our communications. No one else could have done it and recent surveys show that the majority want us to be a middle power within Asia, not a vassal state of the US. Our power elite have other ideas however (so much for "democracy") and to his eternal credit Keating is up for the fight.

                              • Comrade Paddo with his smartest person in the room rhetoric—unfortunately for him, it's the wrong room.

So he claims Tiananmen Square didn't happen and Chinese Muslims aren't being locked up in their millions in re-education camps as to China , Islam is a mental disease that needs to be cured.

Oh, and he also knows the cause of the Ukraine War.

His hero Putin is supposedly saving Russia from the brink but on the other hand, started two wars in Chechnya a war in Georgia and, of course a war in Ukraine while also assisting al-Assad in the Syrian War.

Comrade Paddo, like his hero Putin, cannot understand that citizens of countries can elect anyone they so wish, and any country is able to apply to join any organisation they so wish and don't need his approval.

It's not the Soviet Union anymore, and all roads don't lead to Moscow.

I bet there are folk looking for the 13% that didn't vote for Putin right now.

Keating is yesterday's news and a relic from a previous century.
