      Very sad....a true legend. Marsh was arguably the best keeper ever to play for Australia- his work behind the stumps exceptional. I remember him being very vocal and animated trying to stop the infamous under-arm ball being delivered against NZ- he was that sort of guy. RIP mate

        Legend of the game who along with Knott and Dujon were the first real wicket-keeper/ batsman.
        He played a huge role with Australia becoming a powerhouse through his work with the academy.
        Unfortunately that mighty team of the early and mid 70s is starting to lose a few members.

              Yeah he was the voice of reason in that moment or moments of madness but he was eventually ignored. It seemed to go for an age the deliberations before Trevor Chappell rolled that infamous ball.......

                i was going to say the same things.
                he could bat but played in an era when keepers weren't expected to be top batsmen and sometimes he'd just go the slog so his average didn't reflect his talent.
                a strong individual in a team of strong individuals.
