  • RIP Shane Warne

I can't believe he has passed away at only 52 years of age. Arguably the greatest bowler in Australian cricket history.

    Rest in Peace Warnie

Good reminder to get your heart checked out. Warnie was a nicotine addict and there's muttering about his possible diet tactics but it's not as if all durry munchers & people following fad diets drop dead at 52.

Heck the bloke across the road is in his 60's, smokes and recently told me he refuses to take blood pressure meds (largely because he thinks his BP's just high because he's nervous around doctors... also, he's convinced that various concoctions of dakka can replace proper medicine).

I'm younger and much fitter than him (have also never sucked smoke... such a weird hobby). However, I've taken BP meds since the age of 16 and had my heart checked annually as my BP is naturally a bit high. IMO it's easy to get yourself checked out and to follow mainstream medical advice rather than listening to unqualified nonsense.

For sure! I reckon he woulda gone alright on a footy field as he knew how to get into people's heads and woulda had good ball control.

He'd have struggled with the fitness aspect of footy.

That was a brilliant service and befitting a legend of Australian sport.
