Minus Russian propaganda, what's the real story on the Ukraine?

Side note - why does Paddo consider mainstream news from all over the world to be 'propaganda'?
> Propaganda: The systematic propagation of a doctrine or cause or of information reflecting the views and interests of those advocating such a doctrine or cause.
Answer: it's not. Political parties have 'doctrines' that they can 'systematically propagate'. Mainstream news is 'the media'. I get that we might all seem like muppets when you're stuck thinking that the opinions of the Kremlin, CCP and John Menadue are the only sources of objective truth. However, that's what it's like being a cult

Some facts for Salvo
A nation of gun lovers:
Over 40,000 people have died by gunshot in the US in 2022.
“There’s no logical reason a nation of 332 million people should have 400 million guns. You can’t fight fire with fire. And fighting firearms with firearms is called a war.” - Grace Tame
Which proves that the US are a nation at war with themselves and as a way to prevent it descending into a complete civil war, start fights elsewhere to distract and unite the civilians.

It is in their constitution the right to bare arms though -2nd Amendment - back in that day the reason for this is they had no standing army only militias
" A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
The amendment's primary justification was to prevent the United States from needing a standing army. Preventing the United States from starting a professional army, in fact, was the single most important goal of the Second Amendment.
Brazil has the most firearm related deaths in 2022 - 49, 437 and 21 countries have more firearm related deaths per 100k than the US
In Scandinavian countries plus Switzerland and Finland they have small regular armies and large numbers of military reservists who keep and maintain their weapons at home - they undertake regular military training on weekends
In Australia A person must have a firearm licence to possess or use a firearm. Licence holders must demonstrate a genuine reason for holding a firearm licence and must not be a prohibited person.
The Possessing of guns by Civilians is not related to starting fights elsewhere or to distract and unite civilians one has to say
The Russian Federations invasions and military operations since the break up of the Soviet Union all have a common theme and are not related to any of the above.- Moldova ( Russia's financial and Military backing of the Transnistria Separatists) - Transnistra is financially and Militarily supported by Russia, and Transnistrian education and laws are also interrelated with Russia.
- Georgia ( Russia's Financial and Military backing of Abkhazia separatists)- see below for later Georgia war
- Chechnya -1st and 2nd Wars - Chechnians wanted Independence but Russia had other plans for keeping it as part of Russia - see below - Oil and Gas- Chechnya is a so called Russian Republic
- Georgia ( Russian Financial and Military Backing of North and South Osetiia / Ingushetia/ and Abkhazia Separatists)- Northern Caucasus are Oil and Gas Rich areas - North Osetiia and Ingushetia are both so called Russian Republics and South Osetiia and Abkhazia are so called Independent republics but controlled by Moscow
- Syria (Russia's ongoing financial and military backing of the Assad's Dictatorship which was on the verge of collapse)
- Ukraine ( Russia's financial and military backing of Separatists in Crimea ( now Annexed) and the Donbas ( Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts since 2014) including the full scale February 24 2022 Invasion of Ukraine
Voting is not compulsory in the USA and the Presidential voting is held on the 1st Tuesday in November - A work day which may put people off voting noting how long the lines would be- also a lot of legal dispute over pre-poll and postal votes -accusations of fraud and vote rigging etc

What you are stating is purely coincidental as the US genuinely believes an armed population offers freedom, not chaos and destruction. Their citizens are also so insular many wouldn’t even realise there are continents beyond North America, and it is in fact a nation divided which is why more than half couldn’t be bothered voting. So again nothing to do with Russian propaganda and Ukraine.

I can't stand opinions because yes... the vast majority of opinions columnists (everybody from Piers Akerman to John Menadue) are just talking heads. If I wanted to know what a bunch of muppets thought, I'd subscribe to Ed the Epileptic Private's twitter feed. Hint. I don't!
IMO your challenge is that you don't know the difference between news and opinions columns.
PS - can you stick to the one account mate? It's weird seeing your Paddo account ranting & raving then your armless dude with a beard account come in with one-liners. There is no need for this and it isn't fooling anybody.Last edited by ism22; 12-22-2022, 08:40 AM.
