Interesting theory but I do not believe the US are smart enough for such a deliberate ploy. What you are stating is purely coincidental as the US genuinely believes an armed population offers freedom, not chaos and destruction. Their citizens are also so insular many wouldn’t even realise there are continents beyond North America, and it is in fact a nation divided which is why more than half couldn’t be bothered voting. So again nothing to do with Russian propaganda and Ukraine.

It is in their constitution the right to bare arms though -2nd Amendment - back in that day the reason for this is they had no standing army only militias

In Australia A person must have a firearm licence to possess or use a firearm. Licence holders must demonstrate a genuine reason for holding a firearm licence and must not be a prohibited person.

The Possessing of guns by Civilians is not related to starting fights elsewhere or to distract and unite civilians one has to say

Voting is not compulsory in the USA and the Presidential voting is held on the 1st Tuesday in November - A work day which may put people off voting noting how long the lines would be- also a lot of legal dispute over pre-poll and postal votes -accusations of fraud and vote rigging etc
