Enough of this Ukraine talk Let’s get back to matters closer to home Who is or who is planning to get their booster shot.

          Double vaxxed, no 3rd dose.

Had myocarditis after both shots, plus Covid has gone through at home this month and I should have got it as was exposed to it for 7 days.....

Thankfully I didnt get it but those who did were triple vaxxed and had mild symptons somehwhere between a cold and a flu, if I do get it I should pull through ok......

sounds like you drew the short straw brawl, sorry to hear it. they say it's more common after the mrna jabs. maybe az or novavax as a booster might be worth a thought - or maybe it's safer not to have a booster, i don't know. but myocarditis can happen after you get covid and it sounds like you're susceptible to it, so that's also a factor.
            it's tricky.

Unfortunately my small brain's confused by the terminology now. I've had two Pfizer jabs and two Moderna. Some people seem to be calling this their 'fourth jab'. However, I consider myself 'double vaxxed' as I've had two separate vaccines. Meh it's like the 'sin-bin' and 'send-off' rule... I thought a sin-bin was being 'sent off' until Anal-Guy pulled out an obscure rule that players can be 'sent off', and pundits started saying 'NO HE WASN'T SENT OFF, HE WAS SIN-BINNED!!!' in their most condescending voice.

              Anyhow...
              - No side effects or anything, it was all seamless.

              - Haven't had COVID (I've been a hermit but have kids who are school age so I think we've just been lucky as people at my kids' school & my office... including on my floor... have had it).

              ---

On a side note I've been sick as a dog this week (not COVID - tested 100 times). We're prepping our house for sale so it's been a cow of a week. Fark it's annoying spending all day doing this with a sore throat, headache and fever. Love the house (fully renovated now) but when dusting it up for photos/inspection, I seem to spend 90% of my time re-doing stuff we've paid tradies $$$ to do as part of $$$ renovations (all the attention to detail they have missed). My wog genes keep flaring up and saying 'oh FFS!!! If you're gonna fukking bodge it all up then at least bodge it all up properly you d!clheads!!!'

Sigh. Almost there, we've scored a great deal on our dream home (very lucky at this age... architecturally designed house in a leafy suburb with amazing views) and even modest estimates for our house suggest we'll only need to borrow a little bit for the upgrade (we could actually end up with change if things all fall into, but I like to plan for the worst). It'll all be worth it!

Weetangera. By no means the classy part of town, but pretty nice IMO (backs onto a big nature reserve and I like things to be a little bit low-key).

The auction gave us a great vibe as lots of neighbours came around with a beer to have a bit of a catch-up while watching the contest unfold. Afterwards they all introduced themselves and asked us around for drinks and stuff (couldn't as our little one was with us and we wanted to celebrate with a dinner anyway, but we've now got lots of neighbourhood gatherings lined up). I dunno... I think it was all worth it

Sounds great man. Similar thing when we got our place on the south side. The majority of those at the auction were neighbors. Great people. Nothing between us and bush land to the front and up high overlooking the Brindies.

Those that don’t live in Canberra don’t understand.

For sure mate, and those places overlooking the Brindies are some of the most beautiful parts of town. Those who go hating on 'Thugranong' and 'Belcompton' have NFI. The names make for a good joke but IMO those big blocks in chilled communities, with lotsa greenery and mountain views are where it's all at. We're on a corner block with views of the arboretum, black mountain and the pinnacle. As somebody who's had various struggles with mental health, it definitely adds a lot to my life being able to look out to such things and walk around a park-like garden with lotsa little nooks and stuff (I love gardening + having all the birds/lizards/possums/roos...etc out there). It's great seeing my son connect with it too. He's a really athletic/energetic kid (6yo who's bigger & stronger than his cousin who's in year 4) who benefits greatly from outdoor activity & nature.

I love living in Sydney for the big city buzz (not exactly Tokyo but it definitely has its big city charm). However, I kinda prefer the buzz of travelling to Sydney for recreation more than living there. We have lotsa fun staying at mum's terrace in Surry Hills, eating out (usually at Dead Ringer, Una's or the Balkan), watching the footy and having some big walks around the city. Balance I guess... living in peace and visiting the big city for the buzz of it all.
