I hate putting tickets and stock on the bottom shelves at work now because of the bending down and i am no where near as flexible as i was even 10 years ago but i suppose i could do proper stretching exercises to help that. Lol about the 80's being 40 years ago, i'm going to a retro party tonight where they will play 60's 70's , 80's music at at a stretch probably some 90's stuff, should be fun, its been two years since the last one because of Covid.

My better half was only talking the other day about moving to some where level when we get that bit older so we don't have to negotiate the stairs where we live, i just said i'm still planning to be mobile when i hit 80 and then maybe who knows.

I can’t say I see too many benefits of getting old. Aches, pains, difficulty getting up, bending down, more screening tests for multiple cancers, blood tests. Realising the 80s were 40 years ago! On the positive side, I guess I should be wiser and more experienced by now.

It was a great night, lots of Kylie, Madonna, ABBA, Kim Wilde amongst others artist played. They had an amateur show to the theme of We Will Rock You with songs from Queen, AC DC, The Divynils , Kate Bush and a few others, it was hilarious, props for the show fell apart and bits of costumes fell off and went flying and of course a lot of the performers were out of step, i haven't laughed so hard in ages, i had tears coming out of my eyes at times. Took a while to find my dancing feet but once i heard a couple of classics i was on the dance floor, felt so good to be able do something like that again.

Yes exactly, a lot of my relatives, aunts and uncles are gone, both my parents are still alive but my mother has dementia and in her late 80s, she seems happy enough and has her lucid moments and remembers who we are but then slips into another world,, father still has full memory but his body is failing him, he can still get around a bit but he is not in a good way, and of course when he sees something on TV re about medical conditions, he reckons he has it and of course he hasn't, basically nothing wrong with him apart from his body falling apart now . One of my fathers cousin who was a great woman and my favourite relative, her body failed her but her memory was still as sharp as a tack till she died aged 94, i used to call in and see her in the nursing home when i was up the coast quiet a bit, it is really sad when your body fails but your mind is still a 100 %.

I'm glad i have traveled over seas a bit over the years when things were easier and more sane, did have a big Europe and UK trip booked back in July 2020 for my better half's 60th Birthday but we all know what went down then so didn't go, not sure what the state of the world will be to travel in over the next few years, with restrictions, wars etc so not in a hurry for an overseas trip for a while, if ever again, although a quick zip over to Singapore would go down well. Have Virgin air fare credit to use from a cancelled trip to Melbourne in March 2020, we then booked airfare to Townsville for last year for the football and a winter break with the credit but then two weeks before hand we went into second lock down so now just putting the finishing touches on a trip to Darwin in August now and will use the credit for part of the air fare , just looking at the flights it looks like it will be better flying direct to Darwin with Qantas as Virgin as no direct flights there but use the credit coming back as the Virgin flights are direct then.

The rest of the world is mostly open and returning to Aus is pyss easy now as well so get out and amongst it if you like O/s travel. It’s a great time to travel o/s as crowds are down and businesses are looking attract tourists again.
I hope you can get that trip to Singapore. One of my fav places to visit.FVCK CANCER

Singapore was our last trip 2018 and we absolutely loved it, i had been before in the early 90's but my better half had never been, think that will be the first place we dip our feet in again if going o/s. Hopefully will get back to London and the Greek Islands again one day, just so glad i had the chance to experience them before.
In the meanwhile, I've restored an old Mac (computer) and have been using it to write a classic-style adventure game where you explore the said town (complete with 1-bit graphics). Looking forward to finishing it and releasing it to a niche community via a limited run of floppy disks. It's odd how drawing all the pictures & travelling through a 1-bit world using NSEW commands (plus 'swing fist' and 'throw rock' commands to break into my old workplace + trash it) can make me feel so comfortable

Before Covid of course and it’s still our dream so I just hope one day we get there…before we get too old! The NT would be on my list too. We managed a family holiday to Cairns last July and got back just as Delta started hitting the East Coast so we managed to time that one well.
