  • Ukraine End Game? US supporters should hang their heads in shame.

We don't know how far we are from the denouement in this sorry affair but one thing is clear, the US is intent on destroying the Ukraine in its power struggle with Russia.

The result has always been a foregone conclusion despite the cheering on from the US and Britain. The Ukraine needs to negotiate a settlement pronto because they are on their own some in all this. Time to defy the Neo Nazis that govern them. A fight to the death is not an option nor a preference for most of the population. But that is what the US is aiming for with its regular weapon supply and propaganda encouragement. As a geopolitical move, the policy is in the hyper cynical bracket. The US cares nothing for the future of the hapless Ukraine population, their sole intent is to wreak as much damage as possible on their Russian rival. Time to stop cheering them on people and to see the US for what it egregiously is.

I for one have never had faith in US foreign policy.
The "worlds police force" has always had an ulterior motive that benefits them.

seems like it's the ukrainian government and people who are the driving forces behind the resistance.

I like how you say that the Ukraine Government needs to negotiate a settlement because another country illegally invaded it.

The result is a foregone conclusion sounds very much what the Russian Federation thought when they illegally invaded Ukraine on 24th February and 10 weeks later where is this foregone conclusion up to.

Why don't the Russian Federation withdraw their forces from Ukraine as no one except the Russian Federation and their very few allies and supporters such as you believe the bunkum of the so called special operation being about the demilitarisation and denazification of Ukraine.

The Russian Federation should have no say in what organisations other countries join.

So will the Russian Federation also invade Sweden and Finland to " demilitarisation and denazification " them since they are considering joining NATO.

And how would you gauge or quantify that Zac? Public outcry? The will of the people? One of those nebulous expressions much loved by privately owned, player media? The government of Ukraine is a pretty much fascist outfit that took over from the legitimately elected government which was driven out of office after US meddling. Fresh elections were promised but never happened. These guys just took charge with US connivance.

We're now seeing the same old US meddling elsewhere. The undermining of Imran Khan in Pakistan for his refusal to toe the line on Ukraine and now the revival of the Marcos clan which stole billions from the people of the Philippines under the auspices of the US and who are now being rehabilitated by Uncle Sam to junk the Duerte pro China position. Lotsa CIA money goin' in there and guess what? The people will doubtlessly make the "right" decision just like Ukrainians are all in favour of being bombed back the Stone Age as you would have it.

And King, don't take those blinkers off whatever you do. Like to hear your views on NATOs invasion of Serbia. If you're stuck on that just go to the NY Times or Washington Post archive or more locally, The Australian. You old Cold Warrior you.

don't know about fascist but it ranks high on the latest corruption index - almost as high as russia!

no doubt the u.s. wants to neutralise russia as much as possible - they represent a real threat to former soviet satellite nations, some of whom are part of nato - but they were up front about not getting directly involved. they didn't um and ah and lead ukraine on. ukraine decided to resist based on the knowledge that they'd only have their own manpower.

considering how badly russia has fared so far there's almost an argument that the west - not just the u.s. - should threaten direct involvment. might cause some sensible russian generals to get rid of putin. too risky for mine, but it's worth a thought.

What nonsense the President of the time in 2014 Viktor Yanukovych's reneged on the agreement to sign a political association and free trade agreement agreement with the EU instead "choosing" closer ties with Russia and Eurasian Economic Union ( A Russian Controlled Organisation of Post Soviet States).

The majority of Ukrainians don't want their country controlled from Moscow simple as that and why they voted in December 1991 to leave the USSR and become an Independent Country in the first place.

The Verkhovna Rada Committee and MP's voted in early 2014 to remove Viktor Yanukovych from the post of president of Ukraine on the grounds that he was unable to fulfill his duties.

So he resigned and fled to exile in Russia avoiding impeachment and in absentia has been sentenced to 30 years jail for high treason by the Ukrainian Courts

New Elections were held in 2014 with Petro Poroshenko elected as Ukraine President

In the 2019 elections Volodymyr Zelenskyy was elected as Ukraine President.

              Next elections are in 2024.

NATO should have taken action earlier than just being a peace keeping force to restore peace and law and order in the Balkans.

Why is it that those countries in the East under Moscow Influence and control had all these problems when the USSR Collapsed and still do though.- The Russian Federation has a lot to answer for from their USSR days.

There was no such problems in East Germany when the Berlin Wall came down - more of a huge relief in East Germany as they were no more under the yoke of Moscow controlled puppet Governments and of course no longer under the ever watching eyes of the Stassi

Stop feeding the troll, doesn't contribute in the footy threads and lives his life by stirring up political rubbish. I bet the grand kids must really look forward to visiting pops with his long winded sermons.

It's quite sad really, he must be a scream at parties.

If people just ignore him maybe he will tire, and find other forums to preach at.

Too true. Paddo is doing the right thing and discussing these topics in the off section. My comment was not that he shouldn’t post here, but more why did he start a new thread when he could have just posted in the existing one.
