What the hell motivates people to walk into schools and shoot little kids, if you're feeling that down tie a rope around your neck and kick the chair out.
Yes..........full credit to Howard for his stance.
This country doesn't need another monster like Martin Bryant.

2001 got in on the back of 9/11 and the lying of the children overboard sage where all the thick masses that Paddo Colt refers to who believed this bullshit got him over the line there.

Now how can well forget about sending troops to Iraq on the back of blatant lies of those weapons off mass destruction that are still yet to be found Some of if not the biggest protests ever seen in this Country over that one again is a leading indicator of how divisive little johnnie was.
He was a welcome relief after having finally had enough of Keating sending the nation into record interest rate territory along with other things. But the WMD and children overboard stuff was the last straw for me. Also, like JB said in the next post on here, what he did for gun laws in this country was brilliant.

If you plonk your kids in front of a tv with a console such as a PlayStation attached and let them play shoot ‘em up games where they get more points for head shots, it’s only a matter of time before someone wants to try it in real life.

I also don’t think suicide is the answer if you’re feeling down. People should talk out their feelings and not feel alone.

And your ratio to that is what exactly Paddo Colt?

By the looks of your pic, you must be a member of the Shooters Fishnets and Gamers party.

If there was a game where the objective was to shoot and kill household dogs and cats, it’d be banned in a heartbeat. So why do they allow humans to be the target of such violent simulated behaviour. It’s ludicrous.

Do you play these games with your kids Ted?

Why not just answer my question? And I have absolutely NFI who Ted is? Really not sure what your agenda is being on The Chookpen. You seriously add nothing aside from being a complete waste of space.

Please humour me - who is my avatar?

I don’t need to answer your question Ted as I am not PC61.

It was noted this killer kid played Call of Duty. I’d hazard to guess that most of these mass shooters indulged in games like COD. Is that what you and little Ted play together?

Maybe redwhiteblue could start a mass killer thread for us all so we don’t derail this terrific Federal Election thread?

Since we’re asking, who is my avatar? 100 points for the winner

People spoke and he was voted in over and over. Guess they united to keep him in. You do realise than in Aus, you can vote a leader or party in or out right?

Isn’t what you just said EXACTLY the way Anal just got into power? On the back of preferences and from spinning lies?

biggest protests from the weapons issues? I thought that was from the covid lockdowns and vax hissy fits?

oh and I don’t read Paddos posts. They do my head in.

Keating was the driving force behind the deregulation of the economy. He also floated the Australian dollar allowing foreign banks to operate in Australia......he removed direct government controls from interest rates which had helped create a competitive disadvantage for Australian companies.....he established the National Training Act 1992, presented the White Paper Working Nation in 1994 to combat rising unemployment.....he responded to the High Court decision in the Mabo case 1992 and enacted the Native Title Act 1993 and the Land Fund Act 1994, which was the first national recognition of indigenous occupation and title to land....and of course the jewel in the crown was the full implementation of National Superannuation scheme.

Lets just say that Australia would be a very different nation today without Keatings policies and vision.

Australia would be a very different place too if it wasn't for John Howards guns policy. Its something he needs to be applauded for because we could easily be like the USA-a giant shithole.

Yes, under Howard Australia broke records for continuous economic growth this was fairly easy after the Hawke-Keating reforms and a mining boom.

Yes, Howard implemented the GST, but it was only half the job that New Zealand did because of the Senate. But Howard did not revisit the tax later when he had a Senate majority.

However Howard led us into Iraq just to please the Americans and that the decision was based on a falsity.

On housing affordability, Howard introduced the capital-gains-tax concession; bolstered the first-home buyers' grant; and boosted immigration – all putting pressure on housing demand. Investor entry into the housing market took off from the moment the capital-gains-tax concession began.....and the great Australian dream started to slip away after that idiotic decision.

Howard introduced the over-60 superannuation tax holiday, other super concessions, family payments to middle-income households, age-based tax concessions, and lots of income-tax breaks for middle to higher-income households which have been impossible to wind back and has led to much of the inequality in society

In education, he dramatically increased federal funding to private schools ,which they largely spent on non-educational luxuries. He starved public schools. The result is the worsening scores Australia gets on national and international testing.

In health, Howard's government corroded Medicare by misdirecting money into tax deductions for inefficient private health insurance. Howard set the stage for the present return to the 1960s in the health system – one in which many people cannot afford to pay for healthcare.

With infrastructure, Howard was a master of the pork barrel. The regional partnership program was biased towards Coalition and marginal seats which is something we still see from the Coalition today. Howard gave priority to the Alice-to-Darwin railway which was another big spend in a marginal seat, instead of being part of the orderly construction of a national rail network in which the Melbourne-Brisbane link was the obvious priority.

In Indigenous affairs, Howard's legacy was the abolition of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission; the intervention; the failure to say sorry to the stolen generation; and the mishandling of constitutional recognition.

Howard divided and ruled on the 1999 republic referendum instead of being a national leader. He demanded his party members vote for an antiquated definition of marriage.

Besides all that he did OK!

I usually have one rule in here only and that is not to talk politics. Looks like I’ve cheated on myself.

Has Monkey Pox hit there yet? My sim came home from school the other day and mentioned it. I thought he was being a smart arse! When will this madness end? I thought people got aids from monkeys, not the pox!

Nice post. I agree with most of that. The ‘other things’ I refer to are personal. The high interest rates he presided over in the recession we had to have caused financial and emotional pain to my parents / family who were at the time running a very small business and we were glad to see the end of him. I’ll leave it at that.
