I'm gonna make sure that when I'm not with my daughter I'm either running (I know some decent trails), shopping for retro gear (lotsa mad bargains) or eating.

Lol, what is it with a few of you on here and your obsession with fisher folk? I admit I had never heard of the term before until the Ckookpen made me aware of it. You learn all sorts of things on the Pen.

Thank you very much Andy for your message in Ism’s Mainstream news thread which I won’t highjack by quoting you there, appreciate the thought very much and I hope all is well for you too. I’m booked into one clinic on Monday morning at Double Bay and another in the afternoon at Bondi Junction..different body parts require different suburbs and specialists apparently but they are all in Roosters territory, so I won’t have to leave our precious east.
Just got back from Kirra last night after 5 days up there. Bit emotional going back after losing loved ones whose ashes are scattered across the Gold Coast. a rainbow appeared at the airport just before takeoff yesterday..it had been raining too but then the sun came out..that was the late other half saying his final goodbye….good thing I had my mask on as I got a bit emotional..finally got some closure and now it’s time to let him rest in peace.
A pod of whales could be seen whilst we were having my birthday lunch at North Kirra Surf Club on Thursday..us spiritual beings love being near the water as you know.. but I did giggle when the coasters at the club said ‘Stone & Wood’…then as we were leaving the club, there on Fox was a classic 1970’s Easts game with Artie and Ian Baker..said to my family that SKD had said to me on my birthday in 2012 that Uncle Nick had it in their contracts that they must never lose on 3 August and they haven’t since..
Speaking of Ian Baker, I met his wife Pam on the Monday as I’d been buying presents at a gift shop on the beach to send to the UK and we had got talking about living in Sydney. She said she had lived at Lurline Bay and Arden St in Coogee and I said I’d done the same but at the Clovelly end. She said do you follow the NRL and the Roosters? I said how did you guess (for once I didn’t have any Easts gear with me..) and she said that you mentioned Rose Bay and I said yes, big fan, long time member and had my own gift shop and small business sponsorship from 2008 to 2011..she then pulled up her ipad, said her husband played for Easts and showed me lots of photos of Ian with the teams from the 1970’s..she said even when Ian played for Manly they never liked them…and considered themselves Roosters at heart..that was just a paying gig…see how they all come back into the fold..
When I looked Ian up when I got home last night, this old thread came up in the search and yes I did use Google..

I told her that we’d beat them on Thursday and I was right..she had worked at the club too back in the day with Artie..I said I’d had my 40th birthday party there and that was 16 years ago to the day today as we’d had it on the Saturday night..I’d gone down to the chocolate shop in the main part of Rose Bay last Saturday as I always get a pre gift wrapped box to take for my family and spent half an hour talking to the owner who is a legendary Easts man who had made the chocolates for my party back then also and he said you just missed Mini in here..I was going through my digital camera too and found photos of me and SKD at the 2013 fan day with the trophy and a photo of the giant chocolate rooster that I’d gotten from the same shop as the owner had only made 4 for the 2013 grand final.. I didn’t eat it until the following Easter…
Adam Goodes sat next to me in the Qantas business lounge yesterday too and I’m pretty sure I spotted Megan Gale walking through the airport also. Did not see one person wearing NRL gear for any of the Qld teams…only Roosters, Newtown Jets, Parra and my uncle pointed out some Dragons seat covers on a car parked at the front of his apartment block on the Tweed River…
That’s it for my travel diary..thanks again everyone for your good wishes in my other thread which I don’t want to dig up again as it’s depressing and I hope ALL of you are staying well and safe..I’ll be better positioned after Monday to see what I’m dealing with..take care everyone and lots of love and Roosters light xxx"Those who care about you can hear you, even when you are quiet" - Steve Maraboli
