    PS I’m serious
I’ve just bought an expensive night sock, like a splint. I will give it a go before I look at shockwave treatment.

Partner has just ordered sims for the phone, my phone is just going to be used more or less as a mobile hot spot as it is just a pre paid but will talk to Telstra in the next week or two on the best way to use my phone but the better half's phone is covered now . Train to Scotland booked and paid for now so not much more to fork out than spending money, do have to book tickets for Voyage though.
Thanks Horrie. I will look into the Oyster card more. We will be doing a lot of getting about on the tube, DLR and Riverboats. I’m on a pre-paid phone too. In fact we both are. When we went to NZ we just got a local SIM card each with a fixed amount of GB. It worked well for data but was a pain for banking and other TFA annoyances which are common place these days. Having to switch over SIM cards because the code goes to your normal phone number was a real pain. It seems like you’re well organised. I also need to decide if we’ll need any cash.

Yes the switching of the SIM cards back is annoying as you say getting codes that come back to your normal phone that you need and then changing back to the new SIM.

            • Would have been settling into Tokyo now before heading the next leg to the UK but instead now preparing for the better half going into hospital Thursday morning. Having a couple of glasses of wine because feeling depressed about not being in Tokyo at the moment but i'm actually more depressed about the better half's upcoming hospitalisation. Actually feeling glad we are not flying into the UK at the moment with all the unrest going on.

My thoughts are with you mate.

Our Jap holiday was just put on hold as the missus cancer came back and she had major surgery a couple of weeks ago. We will now look at going up there in April next year.

Thanks MR, alarm set for 4.45 am as the surgery is scheduled for around 8 am but have to be in earlier for all the prep, i know every thing will be fine but there is always the worry in the back of the mind as we are advancing on age wise now.

Thanks Horrie. It’s been a tough couple of years with health and mobility concerns right through my family but we always try to look on the bright side and also understand that there are other people who are far worse off than us.

Hope things look up for you guys.
