Deep fried Mars Bars sound like a heart attack on a plate, it was quite a fad here to for a while, still a few places you can get them, i think the fish shop at Bondi Beach still sells them.
Luckily i don't like Mars Bars so wont go down that road and try one.

Deep fried chocolate ew. Yes heart attack and cholesterol material. I find Mars Bars too heavy for me, but I don’t mind those little frozen ice cream ones.

I’ve always wanted to go to Japan as well as I studied Japanese all through high school and at uni.
I spent close to 3 years in UK. I’d like to go to Japan with my Daughter I’ve got an old friend from school who lives in Cambodia who loves it their and is always telling me to come over He is a good judge of a good time So I have to check that out I’d also like to go to India more particularly Goa

Wow 3 years is a while. No wonder you know some of the places so well. Well hopefully you’ll get to do all that one day. It took me a long time to get overseas so I want to make up for that a bit in the next 10 years before I get too much older! We’ll probably do a second UK trip down the track too focusing on Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland as well as parts of England we miss this time round. Oh and i went back to the podiatrist yesterday and caved in and am about to spend a fortune on custom made orthotics now for my PF issue. I need to get this foot fixed and I’ve had enough!

            • I’m so glad we’ll be flying to and from London with Singapore Airlines in just over 3 months. But seriously air turbulence could happen to any airline right?

Thought of you this morning MR when i had the news on when getting ready for work knowing you are flying Singapore Airlines. Yes you are right air turbulence doesn't discriminate which airline it happens to, it can happen to any airline or plane, you are flying with one of the safest airlines in the world, fortunately things like what happen with the Singapore airlines flight are a rarity but it still does make you feel jittery thinking about it, i know i am getting uptight again about a long haul flight, not of because of what happened today, i always get a bit apprehensive before a long flight.

I keep telling myself Singapore Airlines is one of the best. But yes I’m going to be anxious anyway having never done a long haul flight before.

This will be my fourth trip to London and Europe and believe me it still doesn't get any easier with my anxiety, not sure why because when i'm on the plane i'm fine, even with short haul flights inside Australia if i haven't flown for a while i still get anxious.
                    You will be fine.

Thanks Horrie. I’m sure you’ll be ok too. So long as we don’t experience any major turbulence.

                        • Just did the final payments for tours/ accommodation so apart from a few incidentals like oyster card, rail transfer to Scotland from London , booking shows and spending money every thing is in place, just under 8 weeks to go now.

How exciting. When you said 8 weeks I decided to check mine and it’s 12 weeks. It’s getting close now and I’m working harder than ever on fixing my foot issue. I’ve booked some refundable attractions and about 3 weeks away from being able to start booking some of the rail trips. Do you recommend the Oyster card? I’ve read a lot of people just use their CC or phone so I’m not sure what to do. Speaking of phones, I need to sort out a sim as well.

Ordered our Oyster cards today, did get good value out of it last time in 2011 and also in 2000 , not sure of what the hidden extra cost would be tapping on and off with your phones, it just depends on how much you are going to travel around London with public transport. Partner has just ordered sims for the phone, my phone is just going to be used more or less as a mobile hot spot as it is just a pre paid but will talk to Telstra in the next week or two on the best way to use my phone but the better half's phone is covered now . Train to Scotland booked and paid for now so not much more to fork out than spending money, do have to book tickets for Voyage though.
