One way ticket from Hong Kong to Brisbane booked. 16 years in Hong Kong finally coming to an end. Hell yes.

Best thing I've read in my thread so far. Welcome home. I have more family moving back home up there too in the next month or so. They have had enough of Melbourne.

I'm not pleased

I was supposed to go up to the game too but had to reschedule a medical appointment from December because my doctor has had long Covid. So that kinda saved me from having to witness that in person..

It's a video game (acquired during my most recent trip to Japan) but... 'LOOK!!! The sun is rising!' (after just climbing a massive wall that was thought to be impassable).

One of my favourite travel games as it involves a massive adventure and the theme (played regularly when you accomplish stuff) is similar to ANA's nostalgia tune that they play whenever their planes land. Makes me feel like I'm going somewhere, even if I'm actually just nerding it up in the mancave

Although only one step off retirement or cutting my hours right down at work i said i wouldn't care if i went overseas again , i find myself starting to put together a itinerary for a European trip in 2024, especially to parts of Italy to which i have never been before and also the Greek Islands.

So you should Horrie you work hard and deserve an international holiday even an extended one We here will be doing the latter when my Daughter finishes high school

The one thing at the moment, it is a day by day process, trying to work out how and when to retire , have to work out a plan on how to make it happen, that is the hardest thing at the moment.

If you have your finances sorted it should be relatively easy Just chose a date and go with it Do you have a lot of long service leave accrued If you did you could potentially take that and work out the finer details in that period This is what my eldest Brother did before he officially retired

Interesting that my RSA is up for renewal very shortly and i got the reminder from Licensing and Gaming that it was but it said i would have do a licensee test also, i thought it was strange as i have not been a licensee since 2004 ( long before i was even at Kensington ) and i have just had to do an RSA refresher course every five years so i was wondering why it suddenly come up as me being a licensee again ? would have meant i had to do another course that would cost big $$$, i have been in contact with them and now it has been rectified that i only have to do the refresher course which is no cost to me, had i had to pay a fee to do the licensee course again i was out pronto.

That's exciting Horrie. I'm currently planning a trip to the UK in 2024. I've never been anywhere outside Australia bar NZ so it's a big thing.

You sound like a classy guy Horrie. I hope you enjoy your retirement. From July 24th I will join the ranks of the semi-retired! I'm only 49 though so apart from golfing I need to figure out what I am going to do with myself.

Thanks Voodo Man, that's great that you will semi retired and at 49. I'm a bit further on in the years but honestly don't think i will to much trouble working out what do with myself, lol my fishing license renewal just turned up in the post and that is something i will get right back into once i'm retired.
