This is the Elvis mini series I remember watching in 1988. It's Elvis & Me based on Priscilla's book and Dale Midkiff played Elvis.

Those 2 are on my watch list. I've seen the others but would watch them all again. I have BH on DVD and it came with postcards which I framed and a bottle opener/key ring. I've been meaning to watch The Runaways for ages with Kristen Stewart playing Joan Jett and Dakota Fanning playing Cherie Currie:

Thanks for starting this thread zac. You should do this more often! I've discovered some great recommendations on here because of this. I remember watching the Karen Carpenter Story with my mum and one of my sisters. A lot of these older ones I'm posting were made for TV back in the 1970's and early 80's. That said, this was made in 1989:

I couldn't get all the way through Rocket Man but the children were talented. I just found it very haunting so I gave away the DVD. Funny the mixed reviews regarding Elvis. Lisa Marie and Priscilla were very happy with it and Baz got a 10 minute standing ovations at Cannes..oh well..we all can make up our own minds..I always find his movies very long...
                Yes loved Cate as Bob!

I like the warts and all story of Elton. It’s the way he wanted his story told, not just focusing on the good bits. Same with Tina. Yes the DV stuff was absolutely harrowing and Ike Turner should be locked up for it. But the way she overcame all that adversity is uplifting. I loved Bohemian Rhapsody too but felt they avoided Freddy and the bands ‘dark’ side when they should have really touched on it more.

Well I also saw Elvis today and I quite enjoyed it and didn’t think it was as bad as some critics made out. It was pretty typical Baz style, a bit over the top, but still pretty good. He could have delved more into Elvis the person, rather than just the performer, but the actor who played him was really good and the music of cause was fantastic. Tom Hanks portrayal of Col Parker was fairly one dimensional but that was probably more to do with the script.

The Rose with Bette Midler in it was based on the life of Janis Joplin. I was quite young when it came out and I watched it incessantly

                                Molly Meldrum

The spoiler clip is a bit crass so not posting it. Samuel Johnson did a great job playing Molly.
