These are the ones I'm yet to see. I'd love the opinion of others who may have seen them:

      Selena

      Pistol

      Judy

CBGB (this is about the Country, Bluegrass & Blues club in New York) Taylor Hawkins played Iggy Pop in it as the owner eventually moved into punk. There are potrayals of Debbie Harry, The Ramones, Lou Reed and Patti Smith also.

Peter Allen - Not The Boy Next Door

        Hi RWB

I have seen three of them.

Pistol was a 6 part mini series on Disney plus. It focuses mainly on Stephen Jones as one of the original founders of the band. But also gives an insight into Malcolm McLaren and how he used them purely for his own means. There’s also a pretty harrowing episode on the toxic relationship between Sid and Nancy.

Judy was very depressing. Great acting but very sad as it focuses on her later years when she went to England to try and resurrect her career. It was a very hard watch.

I’ve also seen the Peter Allen one but am trying to remember it. Will get back to you on that one.

Ah yes Peter Allen, I was just checking it was the one on free to air a while back, 2015 according to google! I can’t remember it in detail but I remember I did enjoy it.

Thanks very much MR and I've been holding out on watching Judy as I know it will be very sad. The Peter Allen one is on 7PLUS to stream for free and yes, I've added Pistol to my list as well.

Thank you again as we have similar tastes and you know me well enough by now that some of these can be upsetting to watch.

No worries, that’s why I made a point of mentioning the dark, depressing parts lol!

This one stunk. I love Olivia Newton John but when i heard Delta Goodrem was going to play her in a bio pic called Hopelessly Devoted To You, i felt very uneasy when i heard it and was going to boycott it but i ended up watching it just to see how bad it was going to be and it was really bad. Actually before the project took off Olivia tried to get it stopped but she couldn't and the relationship between Olivia and Delta was strained for a while and when the project couldn't be stopped Olivia gave Delta her blessing to play her. Both are best friends again.

I watched Peter Allen when it previewed on TV and from what i remember it was very good.

Saw Judy at the movies, it was excellent and didn't pull any punches, she had a really sad life but the movie was excellent and Renée Zellweger captured Judy beautifully.

I think the saddest thing i ever saw about Judy Garland was when she did screen tests for Valley Of the Dolls, it was really sad.

I remember when you saw Judy in 2019 as I was on the Gold Coast and was giving your review to my uncle and auntie from your message.

I'm going to watch the Peter Allen one soon. I have a whole lot saved in my SBS On Demand favourites too and sometimes they expire pretty quickly.

Madonna's biopic starts filming in September and Julia Garner has been selected to play her.

The Whitney Houston biopic is being released in December and the writer was the same as the one for Bohemian Rhapsody.

This is I Wanna Dance With Somebody:

Thus far IMHO, Bohemian Rhapsody is the best biopic and Elton’s is the absolute worst

I'm Not There -- 7 different actors play Dylan at various stages of his career, including Cate Blanchett.

Never seen a good one - all crap. Maybe Sweet Dreams about Patsy Kline.
