Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Elvis Presley - self titled (I also watched Private Elvis about when he was in the army)
The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
The Doors - self titled..this one is on now..amazing album for a debut..simply stunning and groundbreaking..

Beside Bowie - The Mick Ronson Story

I'm not posting the trailer as the language is not nice.

They were all just so good MR. I remember you and I chatted about them previously. I wanted to ask if you have seen these as they are on my watch list:

McCartney 3,2, 1 which is a 6 part series and also Get Back

7PLUS has the below 2 for streaming:

Metal Down Under - bit too aggressive for me but I know a few of you love the really heavy stuff. There are 3 one hour episodes.

                  Gimme Danger about The Stooges

I haven’t heard of the Paul one.

I watched Get Back as soon as it was released! If you’re a serious, and I mean really serious Beatlemaniac that wants to know every minor detail on the band you will like it. I am a Beatlemaniac. I have multiple versions of all of their albums and singles, Mono, Stereo, remastered, US, UK, Giles Martin version etc etc. On vinyl and CD (even some old cassettes), multiple books and DVDs. The documentary is very slow so a passing fan will probably find it tedious. It literally shows hours of unedited recordings of the band in the studio trying to make an album. There are some brilliant bits in there which make it worth sitting through it all, but it won’t be for the casual fan. At times even I found it a bit tedious and wished they’d edited some stuff. One episode went for about 3 hours!

Thanks for the summary MR and I trust your judgement. Yes, I do now remember reading in one of my music magazines that it was very long. I do admit I get restless watching long films and would prefer they cut them down into episodes. I'll still give it a go though maybe in summer when it's too hot to go outside or next time we get heavy rain...which could be anytime these days..

The Paul McCartney one will be good as it's in smaller episodes.

Yes 08, I saw it a few weeks ago. I thought it was ok. I was expecting the worst with all the critics mixed reviews, but I didn’t think it was as bad as most of them made out. It was pretty typical Baz though, loud and a bit all over the place. The actor who played Elvis I thought was really good and played the part really well. I also think it focused a bit too much on his Vegas years and on Tom Parker. It was nowhere near as good as Rocketman or Bohemian Rhapsody in my opinion but was enjoyable enough.

From memory there were 3 parts to it, each very long. Apparently the DVD set will have even more footage than what appeared on Disney! I will buy it eventually of course. I’ll definitely look into the Paul one too. Thanks for the info.

Oh wow. They really did cover everything and rightly so. I do remember when the Let It Be film came out (even though I was 3 LOL) because my sisters had the album and sheet music for the piano also. That one ran for 80 mins which is more my pace.

You are welcome re the Paul McCartney series and I think I'll watch this soon too:
