Anyone got any cool hobbies they indulge in from time to time?

I used to build the occasional model or balsa wood plane from the hobby shop but now days I’ve got a few RC cars they take up a fair chunk of my time and $$$.

What’s your hobby or interesting relaxing activity?

I love swimming and always always make sure I’ve got goggles with me as well. They come in very handy indeed.

I also love backgammon One time early in the second lockdown I was at home all alone and very bored so I versed myself in a thrilling 5 game series which white won 3-2

Fishing has always been a favourite past time of mine but haven't been fishing for quite a few years now, hopefully something that will be rectified when i retire, have to admit walking around the harbour a couple of times over the last few months near some of my old fishing spots and seeing some nice looking leatherjackets swimming around has my mind ticking over again about wanting to dangle a line.

Gardening. I’m more a thinker than a creative person, but gardening is where I can actually try to be creative. I’ve done a lot of work over the past decade designing and creating our garden beds, researching and selecting new plants which are suited to the conditions and of course maintaining them. I’m still learning.

I also like cooking and trying to be creative there too. I really enjoyed making birthday cakes for the kids as they grew up with a different theme each year depending on their latest likes and interests. They’re too old for that now but I still like baking and cooking in general. Not the boring quick 20 minute dinner which is more of a chore but the times you get to spend creating a more complex dish.

Music of course is probably the thing I love most, when I just want ‘me time’. Building my music collection and delving into artists catalogues.

I'm surprised how much we have in common.
Yes I rode , and I am very well read.
My goal this summer is to spend a lotta time at the pool, but free-style is beyond me since my shoulder replacement. Breast stroke is the way to go, In the mean time I've been taking a leaf out of your book by enjoying the winter sun...........when it's not raining.

Fishing is my main past time. Bought a new boat at the start of last year but had to sell it when we decided to move to the states.

The fishing here is pretty good but it’s just a learning curve again as it’s fresh water, not salt and I’m trying to remember my fresh water knowledge from a few years ago. Every lake here can fish different and there are literally thousands of different bait and lure combinations so it takes ages to get it right.

Off to Canada next week to some familiar spots up there. It’s on!

Not much of a gardener myself but I do enjoy getting out and destroying everything with the whipper snippet and the mower!

Cooking is awesome but with the price of food now, it’s too costly to experiment. You’ve got to get it right the first time.

LOL you are right. I went out for essential exercise and recreation frequently. However this was in the evening I don’t think people realise how difficult it is to verse yourself as by the final game I felt I was being racist as I found myself making better decisions with white than brown After this I phoned a friend and asked them to come downstairs and this all had a happy ending in more ways than one and I didn’t spend anymore time bored and alone whilst in lockdown
