Saw one yesterday being run by a few kids from my sons middle school. It’s cool to see them out being so enterprising.
Too sugary for me though.FVCK CANCER

I used to garden with my parents and we had rose bushes and November lillies at the front of the house and the vege patch out the back with endive, grapes, figs, lettuce, mint, parsley, lemons and a chilli tree.
I also like doing crochet and I made a red, white and blue rug which a few of you have seen at Roosters games. We've pretty much made them in all our family's team colours (Storm, Broncos (ugh) Parra (acceptable back in the 80's, now not so much, and Swans - yay).
I enjoy decorative chocolate making and have moulds for Roosters, racehorses, bears, and rabbits (Easter related only, no other reason) and love experimenting with different flavours and decorations. I also love making fridge slices as the stove in this apartment is scary for me even though I've lived here for 10 years. I can't eat flour anyway so I make a variety of protein balls, truffles, slices and cheesecakes that don't require baking.
Every Sunday I also experiment with different combinations of flavours when making my pasta for the week, which I only make in winter. Anything with herbs, chilli and vegetables which I just simmer in the pan on a hotplate (I'll listen to Guido's whole recording posted by Renty later this arvo when I do this)
I used to collect vintage jewellery from around the world which flowed off from when I had my shop when I used to sell some pieces handmade by ladies who are Roosters fans and live locally. I gave a lot to my great niece who lives in outer Melbourne to play dress ups last year in their never ending lockdown and the more valuable ones will go to her and my other little baby great niece in London. I still get Roosters brooches given to me now and again, the most recent was just a few weeks ago from a friend in the north of England for my upcoming birthday. He's actually pink and purple and Horrie has seen a photo of him. I've named him Morley as I said in the 2002 grand final documentary thread. The others are Artie and Freddy..
That leads me to my Roosters collection of memorabilia of stick pins, coasters (Dad used to collect coasters from all around Australia as he played representative lawn bowls for Queensland and later became a selector, so lots of travelling, beers, beers and more beers by the amount we found in drawers after he passed) and the odd cufflink or two. I also have some red, white and blue crochet coat hanger covers and mini crochet footy boots given to me by the lady that Jake Friend used to board with when Artie first recruited him. I've collected a few signed Roosters books too and some were gifts from customers including a signed one from Johnny Peard's sister.
I used to collect musical memorabilia also but now that I'm older and living in a small space, I've either sold it or given it away apart from Steve Prestwich's drumsticks which he gave to me at a pub in Annandale, an autographed photo of Madonna that she only gave out to 4 Australians and I was one of them as part of a contest prize and a postcard signed by Kylie and her crew as my niece performed with her at the Paralympics closing ceremony.
I ran my ebay store around 8 years too after closing my physical shop and that was fun for a while too and great way to clear what I didn't need anymore as my musical library is mostly digital now. I still have a small cupboard of CD's though with sentimental value.
I also like making my own cleaning products from lemons, bicarb, vinegar and various essential oils.
Natural therapies with crystals is something else I've been studying over the years and they have been around since 4th millennium BC so I have a lot to absorb..
Most of my hobbies now focus on what I can do for others or to make something for other people as I have all I need."Those who care about you can hear you, even when you are quiet" - Steve Maraboli

Squeezed some over the dolemades last night, sensational.
I reckon the longer you leave them, the better they taste anyway.

These are sensational lemons, the more withered they get the better they are, the first time i got a batch from them i was going to throw some out at the end but when they were cut opened they were still perfect. That said i still miss the nice lemons we used to get from our friends in Hawker too, they were superb.

We go around and check on their house and pool when they go away but haven't noticed any limes on the tree for quite a while now, looks like they had cut it back a bit a few years ago.

I did some copper art work also including a Rooster, the obligatory ashtray for Dad, Eels for Dad and Pebbles & Bam Bam for my niece. I also like doing wool stitch embroidery and did Bananas In Pyjamas on skateboards for my niece who is now in her 30's. I cried when my sister said she took it to her new home now that she's married..I'm shocked she still kept it.."Those who care about you can hear you, even when you are quiet" - Steve Maraboli
