        • Amazingly warm here today. I’m going to need to start watering the plants a lot sooner than normal if this keeps up.

Stunning day today. Say on the deck this arvo with the furry one and soaked up the sun and all its warmth.

            • While it was a warm sunny day here the air had an LA like quality about it when i headed into work at around 8.30 am, i quite often have my lunch at the outside plaza between the two buildings at work but the haze hadn't lifted by 1.30 pm so i sat inside to eat for once, a shame because it was a nice warm day. Higher temperatures this week coming for Sydney and on the coast this coming Wednesday the minimum is predicted to be 20 c and the maximum 30 c then dropping to 23 c on thursday.

              • Amazing start here. It’s l ready 17 but should hit 24 mid afternoon. Forecast to get up to 27 early next week which will be simply awesome!

Bought a new BBQ and really looking forward to getting out in the deck with some nice lamb and lemon/lime/mint drinks.

                • Pearler of a day here in Sydney , while it was very warm there was no humidity around, with my only day off for the last week i felt like getting out even though i'm still having chest and bronchial problems, thought about La Perouse or Little Bay for a swim but decided to go to the Stadium pool instead as the pool would be a pleasant temperature, it was nice just standing in the pool chatting away and bobbing up and down, very enjoyable as i wasn't feeling very energetic.

Well Horrie you did more than I did today Due to suffering from heat exhaustion as I was running around in the hot western suburbs sun yesterday I had a very quiet day today stayed at home and only left the house late this afternoon for a short walk

It would have been so much hotter out in the western suburbs than on the coast yesterday. Usually Sunday nights is my go out night for dinner and drinks somewhere as i have most Mondays off but i wasn't feeling great and also because of the heat after work i stayed in with the air conditioning and chicken wings and pizza and caught up on some TV shows.

                      • Just shy of 29 degrees today which is crazy for this time of year. I fear we are headed for another few years of drought.

Walking around hills behind Fadden today and it was very very dry. Plenty of snake prints in the dirt as well. Going to be rough summer I think.

Yep I agree. I’m going to have to do a lot of watering to keep the garden alive and healthy.

That's the thing that worries me with this heat, the snakes come out, i often go to La Perouse for a swim and have encountered snakes along the paths there numerous times, the last time a few years ago was just walking down the steps to one of the beaches there straight off Anzac Parade and a huge red belly black snake whipped across the path, i was only probably about 3 foot away from it when it whipped across the path, the thing would have been longer than i was tall so i reckon it was at least 7 foot long, it actually looked quite majestic watching it continue through the bush on the other side of the path but i wonder what would have happened if i was a few foot further along the path when the snake crossed, i actually don't want to think of what might have happened actually .
The other times the snakes have been a lot smaller and further away from the main road area but they still startle you, actually one day one tourist was trying to poke one with a stick, i told him he was an idiot in no uncertain turns, it was only a small black snake but if he got bitten who would have known what would happen next

Stick some mulch or wood chips on the garden. Will help to lock in the moisture.
