It was the storm that kept on giving, there was a brief cessation around 2 pm ish so jumped in the car and was going to Harry's at Tempe to get a hot dog for lunch and get a few things at IKEA after that but just after getting onto the highway it bucketed down again so just went straight to Ikea and watched the storm from the hideous cafe there, The junction of Sydneham road and the Princes Highway was completely flooded , glad the car is high up, would have come straight back once the rain turned torrential again but nowhere to turn back properly till almost Ikea so kept going.

            • There’s some storms coming in from the south and north west on the radar. I hope they’re nothing like the ones that have hit you guys in Sydney. The band doesn’t look very big though so we should be okay. The poor dog will freak out though, the poor thing has had a very bad 4-5 months with constant storms to stress out about.

Yep, weather turned again today late morning, pouring for about an hour before i went to work just after 12pm and i was just about to walk out the door the thunder and lightning started again. Got to work and water was coming out of one of the down pipes in the storeroom which happens sometimes when there are heavy down pours, manager just stood like a dummy looking at it, i moved the stock that was going to be affected from the water onto some mini pallets we had and then grabbed the mop, only lost one box of goon from the water spilling onto the floor in the end.

                  • Quite hot today and not the best day for baking muffins but it was already planned.

Hmmm what sort of muffins, MR, hopefully ones full of berries.
Suppose to be between 35 c-38 c tomorrow before a huge change comes through here, so glad i secured tomorrow off, was going down the coast originally on Sunday but seeing i have tomorrow off now we will leave in the morning and hopefully beat the storm/bad weather before getting to our destination.

Not this time. I do have quite a few muffin recipes in my recipe folder and a few with berries. But today it was honey and oats as requested by my daughter. I freeze a big batch and then she can take one out on ‘muffin day’ for a quick snack between classes at uni. I also made some zucchini slice the other day. It’s been a baking week this week. The foot is a bit sore though now from all the standing up.

Enjoy your trip and I hope the weather’s good for you. Looking ahead it’s supposed to be mid 30s here for the most part next week so probably the hottest we’ve had all summer!

Honey and oats are good, and yum zucchini slice. Just heading down the south coast about 2 hrs from Sydney at Shoalhaven Heads, friends are away so happy we can stay and keep an eye on the place, will be great to get away from work for a while.

Hopefully your foot will be ok by the time your trip comes up. Finally heard from my doctor with the results of my ultra sound, old clot still there but getting less and less doctor just reckons to keep and eye on it as every ultra sound it has lessened. I am finding though my leg is getting sore as i'm on my feet for work shifts at moment 8.5- 9 hours a day seeing i'm having an extra day off a week at the moment instead of my old 5- 6 hour shifts.

That’s great news about your leg Horrie. The longer work shifts are obviously masking the fact that the clot is getting smaller. It’s a bit of a pain (lol, unintentional pun) that the trade off for an extra day off is leg pain but at least you know the overall underlying condition is actually improving. With mine I’m just getting better at managing the foot I guess. When I do a lot of standing or walking I try to do my rolling and massaging exercises as soon as I can. It seems to be reducing the degree of pain but obviously it’s still there and obviously I’m not doing anywhere near as much walking / standing as I’ll need to come September. But I have been working lots on the itinerary, but that’s for another thread.

Speaking of which, a storm is passing through right now. It’s already 27 degrees and very humid.

                            • Thanks MR, the doctor said that the blood flow around the bottom of my leg looked good, as the did the podiatrist last month, obviously it just goung to be a slow pdocess. I hope yours is better by the time the UK rolls around with lots of walking involved.

Speaking of the weather, left home just after 11am,it was hot humid and still, had a great run down the coast, stopped in at Gerringong for lumch and you could see the clouds rolling in from the south west, was still very hot when we got to Gerringong but when leaving you could feel a cooler breeze coming through, lucky there was only about 20 km to go, pulled up at our friends house and the clouds were over head with thunder happening, un packed the car quickly and within 5 minutrs of being inside the heavens opened up, perfect timing, the skies have lightened up a bit now but still raining solidly and still thunder.
