When you said Port Macquarie, got me day dreaming of pumping some pink nippers over on the north side near the car ferry and then flicking a line around at the bottom of the old car park near where the co op used to be where the creek runs out, picked up some decent whiting there at times.

Had a chat to an old bloke who was having a fish just inside the bridge to the creek. He was saying it’s usually a good mixed bag there and not many people fish there as it doesn’t look like a usual productive spot.

The first time i fished that spot it was an evening, i was down fishing near the old co op off the wharf there and it started raining so i went down to under the bridge for shelter and ended up catching two decent whiting under the bridge. after that i fished a little bit further up the creek from the bridge during the day and caught 3 whiting and 1 bream. Have fished there a couple of times on other trips there at night right next to the bridge and have come away with 2 whiting one time and 3 whiting the other time, also hooked a stingray which was let go.

It’s a lovely spot there. I can see it fishing quite well. No boat traffic helps.

                • Another cracking sunny Sydney winters day here Laying here on a quiet Eastern Suburbs beach out of the wind and we are having a chat with two lovely young lasses about Red Hit Chilli Peppers and how their music resonates through different generations

                  • So today they are predicting 15 degrees and at 2:30 it is 13. At 11:30 it was still only 6! This is what the weather is like here. You may look at the weather stats at the end of the day and think oh great day in Canberra it reached 15 degrees, but in actual fact it was only warm for about 3 hours of the day. Looks perfect for a walk now however.

                      • Loving this weather. Never seen Canberra so warm in the dead middle of winter. I think I may have bought to much firewood this year.

                            • 24 degrees in Sydney in the middle of July? That’s crazy! But then 16 degrees in Canberra for 3 days straight which is what they are predicting is even crazier! What glorious weather. But I think it’s also a foreboding for a very hot summer.
