Touch wood with the new paint job i will be able to keep the mould at bay at least for this winter.

    • Cool and breezy start to the day. Ate breakfast looking out at the snow on the mountains. The wind was coming directly off them and it felt bloody cold.

Day matured into a nice and sunny afternoon so popped outside and gave the garden a haircut with my new hedge trimmer. Got to 13 where I am.

        • I'm not sure what temperature it got to on Monday here, it is the coldest i have felt in a long long time, to me it felt colder than the times i have been down to Canberra for some of the recent Roosters games down there . Tuesday was cold here too but not as bad as Monday but today was a lovely mild day, 19 c, i was off work so went for a nice long walk.

If it felt like a cold Canberra game, that’s pretty cold then.
I’ve been out to games at GIO where I decided not to sit in the box and I can tell you that it’s some of the worst pain you can go through. No matter what you are wearing, you will feel like Jack Frost has tried to sexually violate you!

It was 15 c here on Monday which i know doesn't sound cold compared to Canberra but for some reason that day i felt colder than i remember being at the games in Canberra, the wind chill factor here on Monday was terrible.
The last 4 times i have been down to GIO i have sat up the back of the Mal Meniga stand and it has been cold cold cold but have been rugged up with flannelette shirt or jersey , jackets, scarf and beanies and i think it was 2019 you could see snow on the Brindabella's while we were down there and twice it has sleeted before we had gone to the ground but for some reason last Monday i felt colder than what i could remember being in Canberra the last 4 trips down, maybe because the cold wasn't expected here in Sydney or maybe i felt it more being just that bit older now

I understand Horrie. I’ve been around and lived in some of the coldest cities in the world but can you believe the coldest I ever felt was one night back in the 90’s in Sydney when I know the temps weren’t even below zero but for some strange reason, I was cold right to the bones.
Sometimes the cold has a way that affects you or how it feels that isn’t measurable in temps.

The wind chill factor is the ‘killer’ and can certainly make the recorded temperature seem way worse than it actually appears. It sounds like it was really cold there on Monday. I’ve always hated the cold. My hands turn to ice, my nose, ears. I have poor blood circulation which doesn’t help and I think as I get older my tolerance levels have just got worse. I also hate having to worry about the cost of heating every winter. I mean it’s not even winter yet and our heater is running every day already. It never used to be this bad but the cost of gas these days is ridiculous and yet I see that apparently according to the budget that Canberra has the cheapest prices in Australia!

Canberra has got the cheapest electricity and gas prices in Aus but that doesn’t mean it’s cheap. The least expensive is still expensive.
If you can, get rid of the gas and put everything on electricity.

Monday felt very cold during the day and I was dreading going out to referee that night However it seemed warm up somewhat and did not feel as cold in the evening

Today is a glorious sunny day off for a swim then try to find a place out of the wind to get a few hours of the nice Autumn/Winter sun

Yep I think the next home project will be putting some solar panels on the roof. Then when the ducted gas heater (12 years old) and gas HWS (about the same age) start to go we’ll be ready to switch over to electricity. We need to take advantage f the government rebates while we can to. I just know I have to do a lot of research on solar panels and so have been putting it off as it seems like too much work.

                        • Another glorious cracking sunny autumn day here in Sydney Not a cloud in the sky and a beautiful 18 degrees here on a very quiet Eastern Suburbs beach

                              • Lovely day as AW mentioned, got out for a walk around Kyeemagh and managed to have a brief dip in the Bay and the water was nice and refreshing.
Supposed to cool down over the next few days but Saturday / Sunday / Monday and Tuesday coming up are supposed to sunny and 20 c so really looking forward to having the weekend off.
