      Hammerhead.

Seriously, without cheating could anyone possibly work out the lyrics to this garbage?

No. Mighty Rooster is correct and so are the lovely people at Google for allowing us all to now check lyrics...but it takes out all the fun...

When my niece was little she used to sing "Her name was Lola, she was a shola" and then ask me what a shola was...it was showgirl...

Thank goodness for Olivia Newton John doing back up vocals..

Don't get me started on Fall Of Rome...we used to have an old thread on here or The Wall called Misheard Song Lyrics and I posted this about that song. Mind you, I love James and hope to go see him again one day. He's done a lot of writing in lockdown and his wife and her friends said to him to start writing love songs....so he's had a few new albums released over the past couple of years.

"If I were a mustang, I'd be a junkyard heap" turns out I was right..

Every morning when I wake from my bed
I find I'm yawnin' and just scratchin' my head
I face the dawnin', I feel like I'm dead
Baby, I've been sleeping all alone
Well, every daybreak as I wake from my sleep
I find I'm achin' as I drag from the deep
              If I were a Mustang, I'd be a junk-yard heap
Mirror don't lie, mirror don't lie, talk about a rollin' stone

The song is not garbage Eddie, it is one of my favourites, but yes with James Reyne in any song a lot of his lyrics are garbled. Lol i had this this discussion with my better half who thought the line was You've been hanging with the nastiest people which i thought it was also but its You've been hanging with the nicest people, i cheated and looked at the lyrics years ago. Also i think the main reason i like this song is something that RWB mentioned, Olivia Newton John doing backing vocals.

Sorry , not knocking your taste in music but I didn't like it. I guess like most things it looks good when you compare it to rap music.

The Creedance song Bad Moon Rising has the misheard lyric of there's a bathroom on the right, when i was young when the song was released i thought it was another line, there's a baboon on the right.

Of course the correct line is

There's a bad moon on the rise.

Why don't you get a job.

It says "say no way, say no way,......... no way"
I always thought it was "Sail away, sail away,........... away".

Maybe I should mention that for a long time I've been 50% deaf in one ear.

                          I got ABBA lyrics wrong

Honey Honey - "don't conceal it' always sounded like "don't go silly' to me..

The Whitlams - from Blow Up The Pokies - it sounds like Tim is singing "I wish I would shine you" - Even Amanda Keller asked him about this so it wasn't just me.... Speaking of Amanda, when James Reyne sang Wuthering Heights as part of the musical challenge on Triple M with Andrew Denton & Amanda, Andrew told James that he's diction was too clear and that he could actually understand him. I have all their CD's as Sony Music donated all the proceeds to the childrens' hospitals.

I have that CD too. The husband and I bought it when it was released and got a great laugh out of it.

My God, that is truly awful .

Slightly OT, they had the Running Up The Hill tribute to Kate Bush at Sydney Park yesterday, saw a couple of Kate Bush dress ups while we were waiting for the bus and also some getting off the train at St Peters station when we heading to the Swans. Looks like it would have been fun and would have gone if we weren't going to the Swans.

There are people who swear Bjorn sings something else rather the line in ABBA's Summer Night City which goes "Love Making In The Park"
