I just remember there were a few songs on there that were hilarious and I remember the comments about James Reyne which really cracked us up. I’ll have to listen to it again now. We also bought the Andrew Denton Stairways To Heaven, but all I can think of with that now is Rolf Harris.
Because I have all 3 volumes plus the Best Of, they come up all the time on my shuffle so for me it's just like part of the furniture. The funny ones are Kerri-Anne Kennerley singing Dirty Deeds and The Wiggles covering A Long Way To The Top and Noiseworks' Girl From Ipanema (but they changed it to Parramatta )..I'd completely forgotten about the Stairway to Heaven one...don't let it upset you MR..but I understand what you are saying..

To cheer us up, I still don't know all the words to Grease apparently.....The Bee Gees version came up today and they enunciate their words differently to Frankie Valli..

Grease is the time, is the place, is the motion ( I thought it was notion..)

Lol, that’s exactly what I thought the lyric was too. REM’s debut album, brilliant by the way, is full of indecipherable lyrics.

I remember there are KerriAnne and Wiggles ones now. I will have to listen to it again. The CD is in one of my CD racks. I don’t have enough room on my phone to download every song in my collection so limit it to my top 3000 or so.

I love that you have a top 3000...we are so much alike..I got rid of my ipod nano and gave it to my niece as it only held around 2,000 songs. I stick with the old ipod classic and I have over 11,000 songs on it with capacity for 35,000. Another ABBA song I got wrong..but don't tell Horrie...

Gimme Gimme Gimme a man after midnight, take me to the doctors at the break of the day”. Correct lyric: “Take me through the darkness to the break of the day” from ABBA’s ‘Gimme Gimme Gimme’.

I could have sworn it was doctors.....

I have trouble with the Bee Gees songs particularly this one Stayin' Alive. I bolded the bits I had no idea about at all

Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk
I'm a woman's man, no time to talk
Music loud and women warm, I've been kicked around
                  Since I was born
And now it's alright, it's okay
And you may look the other way
                  We can try to understand
The New York Times' effect on man

This isn't quite a mondegreen because I made it up myself this evening. Based on "You Don't Bring Me Flowers Anymore" by Neil Diamond and Barbara Streisand.

For those of us with Coeliac Disease "Please Don't Bring Me Anything With Flour In It Anymore"

I'm sure Weird Al would approve..

A very proper dude at uni (studying economics and law... massive Christian, monarchist and young Liberal who always wore the whitest, most starched collared shirts 24/7) used to sing 'I'm a joker, I'm a smoker, I'm a midnight talker' for Steve Miller Band - The Joker.

I eventually told him that the word is 'toker' and advised that this meant the guy enjoyed a fat spliff at midnight. Alas... he stopped singing the song after I told him that. I felt like a bad person
