Thank you to Horrie for breaking the news to me. He's the only one I would have wanted to hear this from. Very dark week in Australian music with 2 lovely ladies now gone..they will be all singing with the angels now..because that is where they belong..and sound like..

this one came up just the other day and I was going to post it anyway

Send in the Clowns from Indigo Women of Song which Horrie had given me. I'll continue to post more throughout the week from this album of covers:

Thanks RWB, Ch9 is just playing a great interview with Richard Marx about her at the moment. The cover to the Indigo album is such a great picture of her and one of my favourites of her, i can't post pics on here but i have a signed copy of it from her.

Thanks RWB. She was only one year younger than Mum too. Mum played a lot of her music from the early 70s era while we were growing up.

Yes Eddie I immediately thought of Horrie too as I know how big a fan he is.

Seeing as we were born 20 odd days apart, I'm sure we left primary school in the same year.
When we broke up we had an evening party at the auditorium and the theme was grease.
They played all the songs more than once. Olivia was a mega-star back then.

Thanks Horrie. Mum's anniversary was yesterday. The reports were that Olivia passed on Monday but with the time differences I'm not sure of the accuracy of the dates being the same now. Anyway they were practically the same age and same date. As I said Mum was a fan of her music, especially pre-Grease era and was always reading news about her and books / stories etc.

Wow was shocked to hear this news. RIP to a much loved person across the globe not just in Australia.

Condolences to Horrie as I know how much he loved Olivia.
It must feel almost like losing one of the family. And RWB as a close friend and empath would be hurting too.

Take care guys....celebrate the life of a wonderful lady.

RIP Olivia my first crush in those leather pants in Grease.
Bad week for Aussie music and I hope the old saying that they die in threes doesn't hold up.

Thanks Jack, still in a total daze at the moment. Ch 9 just a did a live cross to her star on Hollywood Boulevard and the tributes pouring in for her even there, i just started crying again.

Judith Durham and now Olivia Newton John. Both taken away from us too early IMO.

An odd reference but I sorta remember Olivia as having captured a lot of the excitement of the 2000 Olympics (for which I unsuccessfully trialled, but loved every moment of as it was so close / real).

As such, here's but one memory of her existence, where I guess it's kinda cliche but a lot of is did dare to dream. Won't bore you all with too many stories about my 'glory' days, but it was a full decade of dreaming for all athletes IMO. Absolutely anything was possible!

Oh Ism what a beautiful memory. I remember this like it was yesterday. I must admit that was mostly due to having the hang over from hell after the Olympic torch came past right near where we live the previous morning then spending the next 13 hours sinking schooners at the pub. I have people with me here who just watched this now in tears. Today is a very sad day I want it to end,
