As soon as I heard the news this morning, my first thought was for you HH, the amount of times you had brought her up in different threads just made me feel like she was meant to be with you a schoolboy crush.

it may sound silly, as I have never met you, but I’m sad for you and hope you keep enjoying her songs and memories.

An odd reference but I sorta remember Olivia as having captured a lot of the excitement of the 2000 Olympics (for which I unsuccessfully trialled, but loved every moment of as it was so close / real).

As such, here's but one memory of her existence, where I guess it's kinda cliche but a lot of is did dare to dream. Won't bore you all with too many stories about my 'glory' days, but it was a full decade of dreaming for all athletes IMO. Absolutely anything was possible!

I often look at the clip of Dare to Dream and think back to what a great and time it was in Sydney and how amazing it all was . The look on the faces of the people while John and Olivia stroll down the middle singing Dare To Dream is just fantastic.

Thanks milanja, , what can i say, she was just an amazing human being, singer, entertainer and humanitarian. I'm still lost for words really. Watched a few more things on different news's when i got home from work and started sobbing again when they showed her dancing with Gene Kelly from Xanadu, then later they showed the last scene from Grease when the car takes off into the clouds and they played Goodbye To Sandra Dee, the biggest chill went through my body as it was such a final goodbye scene.

I didn't take my IPOD into work today because i didn't want any of her songs to come up but will take it in tomorrow. Will be a while to i will be able to watch Xanadu again though.

She will be on the front page of many of our newspapers tomorrow....a few are running the headline:

The world had lost a good woman today RIP sweet lady
You made a similar comment on the Judith Durham thread. Both these Australian icons had ongoing serious health issues spanning decades- and they were very much publicised.

I know where you going with this and i don't want to upset you but it's time to move on-let it go

I will always ask genuine questions and have not gone anywhere with it as you put it You are the only one continuing on with it, as others just scrolled on by. Now I’m sorry if they make you or anyone else uncomfortable. However a bit of research on your part may allay your unease. Both her and her Daughter had spoken out against the covid vaccine and Olivia had said she had no plans to take it. Maybe this changed maybe it didn’t. I don’t think we will ever know. I had no plans to post these links which I’d found well before your post as I didn’t want people to be further upset or perhaps now look down or put down both Olivia and her Daughter did like one poster who describes the Daughter as a nut job for her views in the Judith Durham thread. After your post I felt the need to post these links I sincerely apologise if this causes anyone upset distress or angst.

Now I’m going to listen to Dare To Dream again and remember what a kind beautiful soul Olivia was.

Condolences to Horrie as I know how much he loved Olivia.
It must feel almost like losing one of the family. And RWB as a close friend and empath would be hurting too.

Take care guys....celebrate the life of a wonderful lady.
Thanks very much Jack for your kindness and the whole world saw that Olivia was the original Empath. She was way ahead of her time in regards to caring for the environment, animals and the spiritual wellbeing of others. I know I get mocked on here for using crystals etc but Olivia has them in her resort, Gaia, as a family member was lucky enough to be involved in assisting her with designs for candles many years ago and he shared that memory with us yesterday. Here are a couple of songs I know you like of hers Jack..the first one I sent to you 10 years ago as I know you like John Farnham.. I changed my playlist here at home to "Olivia Only" for the foreseeable future ..enjoy and have a beautiful day everyone..xx

I knew I’d said it in another thread could not recall which one though So thank you for pointing this out. Even if it was an attempt to demonise myself. Your comment two posts later in then that thread was quite interesting. I’ve pasted it below.

After listening to it earlier. It would be remiss of me not too comment what a wonderful album Xanadu was. Olivia and ELO together

I actually did say to Horrie last night, why are all the men dying so young. It's very upsetting. RIP beautiful man. Here is Ray playing Sinatra in the Rat Pack:

My dominant memory of Ray is the "What's so funny" scene in Goodfellas but look at him in The Many Saints of Newark on Netflix, he looks grotesque. Fat as. Took me a while to recognise him. It wasn't the blue eyed handsome man who passed on believe me.
