One way or another it costs If one likes no strings attached then you pay. If one likes the thrill of the chase turn on the charm and or like to wine and dine you pay. One way or another in todays society you gotta pay to get the muff burger. lol
Hamburger from the Stuart's Point take away not to shabby , just basic meat patty, fried onion, tomato , beetroot , lettuce and tomato sauce, went down a treat with some decent chips also.

Those simple old fashioned burgers are usually the best.
Just been to the Bayside Food and wine festival and had a wagu cheese burger from Avenue 22 BBQ, damm it was mighty tasty , not quite as good as Vic Meat at the Fish Markets but still very good and was actually a bit bigger than the Vics meat one, a damm good tasty burger. Also had a bratwurst with dried fried onion and saurekraut from Berlin Bangers, this was like poetry in the mouth, just beautiful, they also put some pretzels on it. Spent about 2 hours there, plenty of good food and drink options and a couple of stages, one had some nice jazz music going while we were there , the other had some girl murdering classic songs. Such a nice afternoon in the sun with food and sangria's.
Have had a grilled chicken burger with bacon, lettuce and cheese the last two times i have visited Azure cafe at the stadium, both the times the burger has been very good.
Last night we had burgers at Burgerfuel in downtown Auckland. I had a grilled chicken one with cheese, avocado, tomato and onions. It was very tasty but they put too much bbq sauce and aioli on it so it didn’t take long for it to collapse so it was very messy to eat.

Used to be a few Burger Fuels in Australia but they are all gone now. The one in Newtown i rarely saw anyone in there despite being in a prime position.

I wasn’t aware of that. There seems to be a few of them here in NZ.

Its an New Zealand owned company, the only place apart from NZ they have stores are in Saudi Arabia and one in Dubai, Franchises in the US and Australia only lasted 3-4 years before closing.

Too much competition in Australia and the US I guess. I notice Hungry Jacks is also called Burger King here not that we ever eat it.
[QUOTE=mightyrooster; For my homemade burger, I make a beef patty, then add lettuce, cheese, tomato, a rasher of bacon and an egg. Occasionally I will add beetroot instead of the egg. I like the soft buns from woollies heated up slightly in the oven.
Sounds good MR and a bit like my home made. The Woolies rolls are winners but I use the Polski pickles, I've given up Pigs they're too close to us, they're sentient. I'm no Churchill fan but he did say, "Dogs treat us as superiors, cats treat us as inferiors but pigs treat us as equals".
I'm also all for the homemade version. Where did $20 burgers come from? Ridiculous. Like those greedy tradies who quote a rate that might be appropriate for the skilled man but certainly not for the cowboy. Half the trade apprentices at BHP back in the day weren't kept on after graduating because of incompetence. They then hung out their shingles - Carpenter, Electrician, Plumber etc.

Australia is the only place where it is called Hungry Jacks, everywhere else its Burger King. I don't mind a Hungry Jacks burger every now and then but honestly i would only have the product probably once every two years or so.

HJ’s had never been my go to ‘nasty burger’ place but the 3 I have become a fan of is the Angry Whopper, the Impossible burger and I’m not sure if they still do it but the fried chicken burger was amazing and BIG when it first came out.
