  • And this from Professor Stephen Fitzgerald who was a former Ambassador to China. What is the motive for this crap? "Intelligence" inputs on behalf of our very dangerous ally? The Government doing too well in polling so inject a bit of unease in the electorate? Who knows but Harcher, the main protagonist has a history of Sinophobia and it's all concocted bullshit.

as a sidenote his previous piece that appeared on that website had appeared in the australian the day before. maybe, just maybe, it's simplistic to say that you should/shouldn't read anything from medadue/the oz

I'm doing my bit for the Italian Rose Bay community by ordering Made In Italy pizzas every now and again when I don't make my own. They are at least $10 cheaper than Bondi gluten free ones and they delivery very quickly. Do you order from May Kwai? I've been living here for 20 years apart from a 3 year break in between and have never tried it.

          • I find it funny that people won’t trust the media when it comes to footy but take it hook, line and sinker with regard to mainstream.

Was that the reply to Sheridan? Keating would’ve demanded it

Hands down the best Chinese food i've ever tasted.....and hands down the most expensive but it's worth it.

We used to go to the Noodle House in DB every 2 weeks but the family wanted May Kwai- i said ok once a month because i don't want to mortgage the house. Double Bay Chinese was nasty- no wonder it closed down.

I think we are in the wrong thread talking food-even if it is Chinese !!

I thought Comrade Paddo might have bit the bullet and finally migrated to Russia, China or North Korea but alas that was wishful thinking as he will never leave the West. Just pissing in the Wind

The Menadue site takes opinions from a wide range of sources Zac. It was Keating after all and I suspect that the Menadue following wouldn't waste their time reading the Oz. Might be different it ran stuff from Greg Sheridan.

Haven't been away Andy, been over at the Footy side predicting the disaster of the last game. The King thought heat would just be a common factor for a team that trains in it and a pub side just coming north for the game. Ray also opined that any of the top four Sydney sides would have done a number on a Dolphins full of rep players and that Zen master coach. There ain't no one from Redcliff in it.

Anyway I thought that I'd get back here for some more serious stuff. As regards this China situation, it's really very serious. I see a pre WW1 atmosphere abroad. An Empire threatened, Propaganda all over, people getting emotional and fearful. the media and Governments manufacturing consent.

                              • And it is misleading, inflammatory and wrong Eddie. As usual ASPI, the Australian Strategic Policy Institute is prominent. It was set up by Howard and is part funded by Washington and armament manufacturers as an anti China voice yet it gets a platform, even on the ABC, masquerading as an independent Think Tank when it is anything but. It's first CEO, Peter Jennings, who is central in the 9Media China scare panel is a long time anti China hawk. Whenever, in the past there was a hacking scare, as there was with the census, he straight out blamed China, was ALWAYS wrong but never apologised.

Oz public opinion, in just a few years, has gone from supportive of our China relationship to being overwhelmingly negative. What has our MSM been doing to people?

The ALP is useless on it, frightened of its own shadow. For all of his faults, Arthur Caldwell as ALP Opposition leader in the 60s, refused bi-partisanship to Australia's military commitment to Vietnam. The ALP remained steadfastly opposed to it until Whitlam withdrew our force. The ALP then had balls, this lot has us all the way with nuclear subs and subservience to US interests everywhere.
