Just like walking down a supermarket aisle thinking no, I'm not buying that brand as it makes me ill or no I'm not watching that show as I don't like the concept or characters. It narrows the audience of those who deserved to have their wings clipped.Smart enlightened people use the ignore function. It's another way of sifting through what's acceptable and unacceptable to one's personal tastes. That's all.
I have argued this topic for what seems like eternity and had to draw a line somewhere. If this is a sign of mental weakness then fine, so be it. I just have more productive topics to discuss with people online... like the footy (which is why I use this forum funnily enough), competitive distance running, my pet guinea pigs, fixing CRT TVs (anybody got any they need to offload?) and retro gaming,
On that note, below is my adorable pet guinea pig called Sam. If anybody needs a mentally strong subject to quote John Menadue's drivel at or boast to about their illustrious academic career at the highly renowned Glebe High School then I promise he won't block you. He's happy to be a guinea pig.

I can't agree with Chinas stance on the AUKUS agreement.
If it involved nuclear weapons it would be a different story, but a nuclear powered submarine is the only true submarine. Diesel/electric is ancient tech and only equates to a submersible.
It's about time we got something useful from the americans.

I have a Cavapoo. We call them Cavoodles in Oz. We rehouse the old boys and girls (one at a time of course) who are not wanted at a time when the medical bills start rollin' in (not mine, the dogs')
And apart from Guinea pigs, pop music, the block function and Empathy, what is your take, RWB, on China, our USA wrong minded obsession and Nuclear Subs because this is a serious China thread not a tour of Chinese restaurants that you have patronised nor a discussion of the efficacy of the exclusion button.
I would imagine that, being a mainstream kinda gal, you could enlighten the Count/Zac current discussion about the willingness of most people to implicitly trust the media on everything apart from football. Your post at #231 where you encourage readers to go over to your "music" threads and zone out, provides a fair indication as to your vapid interests so, for a moment, turn your thoughts away from pop music and answer The Count and Zac. Why do you trust the MSM? Why do you want to hear nothing about China and the Ukraine. Your response should be no more than 5000 words.Last edited by Paddo Colt 61; 03-11-2023, 10:02 AM.

I think that it's about nuclear proliferation in any form Eddie. It's not just the Chinese who complain, the region is uneasy including Indonesia which is not anti China by the way. We're here in the Asia/Pacific behaving as the US's deputy sheriff and we are pretty much out of step with our neighbours. We are on what, if one applies objective thought, is a fool's errand. Keating calls those who guide our fortunes, Austral-Americans.
Those subs will be part manned by Americans. Doesn't that look like an "all the way" gesture on our part? Of all the nations, we could live in splendid, neutral isolation down here thousands of miles from care but we have a martial power elite committed to Capitalism and confident that a population, fed on Anzac-ery for generations, supports militarism and US Exceptionalism.Last edited by Paddo Colt 61; 03-11-2023, 10:05 AM.

Sorry to sidetrack your thread Paddo. But I need to just say that I agree wholeheartedly with RWB about not having egos take over her and Eddie’s music threads. Which is why I questioned 4 months of control by one poster. Perhaps this is where the use of the ignore function becomes problematic. But I am happy to go with whatever the majority decides. Not a problem at all. I’ve spent most of my life trying to be fair to everyone, much to my detriment over the years. In fact it’s probably a fault of mine, trying too hard to be inclusive and conciliatory. But one thing’s for certain, I will speak up when I believe I am being falsely misrepresented and my character questioned. Again sorry Paddo and everyone for the sidetrack.

A fool’s errand alright.
Those clever mericans have got us sussed. With plenty of fools to spare, they’ve engaged us to fight their war, at no human cost to themselves. Brilliant!
I am sure all the fools, their children and their grandchildren will happily go on a tour of south east Asia, perhaps only one way, to uphold the merican way of guns, gluttony, gas and glory.

Best move on back to China now I look forward to the said posters response to PCs questions on her thoughts on the matter. So far they have joined this thread and offered nothing in the way of discussion about this (unlike yourself who has put forward your views on all of these types of threads ) Personally I think PC will get nothing in response as I think the said poster doesnt really have much between the ears when it comes to these type of things and in my personal experiences is one who will tell you what they think you want to hear if that is what best suits them
I to wish to offer my apologies to PC for going a little off track but I am hoping the said poster can show that they havent just come here with the sole intention of trying to derail this thread, which so far it appears that is the case. Of course such a notion can easily be debunked by answering PCs questionsLast edited by Andrew Walker; 03-11-2023, 10:38 AM.When you trust your television

Reminds me, Count, of that team of blockheads who wanted to invade Vietnam in recent years for a piss up "celebration of the "victory " at Long Tan. Fools here can't see that the Long Tan lie was/is a beat to to bury the disastrous minefield cock up at Nui Dat, the re deployment of which (by the Viet Cong) caused the majority of Australian casualties. All down to our glorious Officer class.
