Of course Randy, the published articles are those of, often, prominent people in political, diplomatic and business circles and the unease they express re our security situation is down to our slavish concurrence with US foreign Policy which has been, and is still, hostile to China. It would be America's "showdown" that we are headed for given our forward base status and it would be terminal for us. The concerns of Menadue contributors was also more acute because our fortunes were in the hands of Scomo and his cabal of right wing zealots.

But you're right, "don't screw it up" and although things do appear to be on the improve, the new ALP is apparently just as wedded to US interests as the Tories, just less gung ho with the provocations.
