It took us a while to get on top in that game and luckily Stoinis had a great little knock to take the game away from Sri Lanka in the end. Finch was very ordinary again but somehow managed to avoid being dismissed. Our net run rate is still abysmal and we are going to need either NZ or the Poms to suffer a major upset in order to make the semis.

No we just need to win all our matches and hope NZ beats England and we are in irrespective of run rate

Of course. Not sure what I was thinking there! England are a very good T20 side though but we can beat them if we play to our potential
          .

6 more minutes if they don’t get back on and Ireland will beat England on Duckworth Lewis system

Update game has been called off Ireland win by 5 runs on Duckworth Lewis system. Australia’s fate pretty much in their own hands if they win their remaining games

Yes I just heard. What an upset. I know the Lewis Duckworth system can put a spanner in the works but I wonder if the poms contributed to the loss or was it just the rain? This will really help Australia. New Zealand play tonight at the MCG also so I wonder if rain will affect this game too.

As the closeness of the system suggested The game was well and truly on the line snd either side could have won when the rain hit The next game looks gone as well

Yep game abandoned as it’s bucketing down in Melbourne.

It was a great knock from him, but it's been a bit of a wait. We all know what he can do, I just don't see enough of it. If I had to choose between Stoinis and Warner, I'd stick with Stoinis.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Looking at the weather radar we may get lucky

Another game abandoned due to the crappy Melbourne weather.

Surely Warner's days are numbered now. Another poor effort the other night. Soaking up balls and getting out early doesn't help the run rate which will probably bite us on the backside when it comes to qualifying for the semis. Even Finch is not finding the middle of the bat, so he's next - even if he does scrape out 35 runs off 45 balls.
