  • Depression and a cautionary tale on legal drugs.

Well yes, I just escaped from another extended stay at hospital. 12 days on a drip, nil by mouth, then glorious clear soup and a bowl of jelly.
The problems stem from an operation I had 18 months ago on the lower intestine where they removed half a dozen potential cancer growths.
Now I'm told that the pockets left behind are very suseptable to infection and can recur anytime.
All in all a most unpleasent experience, I wouldn't wish the pain on anyone.

The cautionary tale equates to how this started.
A couple of years back I contracted something called C-Diff. It was caused by anti-depressants that killed all my good gut bacteria. I take some blame for putting off seeing a doctor for a couple of months when the symptoms were bad, But in reality I blame the doctors for handing out these largely untested drugs like lolly pops.
The pharmaceutical companies are greedy and don't have our best interests at heart.
When I was at my worst with PTSD and depression I trusted the doctors even though I felt like a guinea pig.
I implore any one who goes through a similar experience to reject the candy and try natural methods.

Sorry to hear that Eddie. That sounds shocking and I hope you’re feeling much better now. You’re right about pharmaceutical companies. All they care about is money. I guess you’re going to have to deal with this possibly flaring up again in the future now that your body is susceptible to it?

      Thanks M.R.
Yes I'm unhappy about it and my diet shall have to be controlled meaning I've had the last of some of my favourite treats.
I've got a colonoscopy to look forward to in 6 weeks, and had to cancel my holiday.
But I was born an optomist, and try to see positives where possible.
My new years resolution was to lose weight, and I'm off to a flying start having lost 11 kilos in a week.

Nooo….you had to cancel your holiday to the Gold Coast. That sucks. I’m sure that’s not the best way to lose 11kg but I guess like you say, best look at the positives. The worst thing about a colonoscopy is the disgusting crap they make you drink before it. It makes me nauseous just thinking about it.

You are right Andy but getting the vax certainly does more than not getting it.

I’m not sure why you don’t feel the need to look after your friends and family but I’m sure you have your conspiracy theories that are more important to you.

                          How ya been btw?

i wouldn't trust big pharma. i've read credible reports that anti-depressants are often no more effective than placebos. maybe they're useful for certain conditions but better to try other options first.
personally i've been meditating for an hour every day for a couple of years and that's a good thing to do

                              Yes, that's a good approach.
Anti-depressants certainly can be little more than placebos in some cases, but when they're not, the side affects can be a lot worse than any benefits.
