  • Made in China

Thanks to the iron clad agreement of AUKUS and the petitioning of our merican kinfolk to battle the Chinese for the gilded crown of global hegemony, it is now my duty to boycott any goods ‘Made in China’

Now, it’s gonna be tough to find replacements at this price point and abundance but despite the financial struggles of many right now, we can find a way to support each other and buy ‘Australian Made’ and ‘Made in USA’ and also the other one.

It is here on this thread, that I’d welcome any suggestions from us patriots, for buying from the holy trinity and..

Hahaha i remember Gerry Harveys furniture ad " If you're not buying Australian made why, why not?" Then it was revealed that his furniture all came in flat packs from China, and were just assembled in Australia. What a freakin maggott.

Could you imagine Kmart,Target, Red Dot, Big W, A-Mart, Bing Lee, Good Guys, Bunnings etc etc without Chinese made goods? They would all be selling tumbleweeds.

Having said that my missus won't buy any food that is imported from any Asian countries- she always support Australian made and Australian farmers even if it means paying considerably more. She even is awake to the "NZ product made from imported ingredients" labels- which means the product went from China to NZ to Australia in order to avoid the "Product of China" tag.

      She sounds like me then.

I buy a lot of handmade products from Etsy also for gifts. My old Roosters backpack packed it in on our charity walk (it was just one of those very lightweight drawstring ones anyway, from 2014) and I bought a new handmade one from Etsy and it arrived this week. I take the time to read the country of origin info on the grocery websites also as I mostly shop online.

Luckily out here on land the attire is country, so today I’m entirely decked out in RM Williams clobber. It’s a bit hot for moleskin shirts and slacks but the lack of dacks is invigorating. It’s a bit like a couple of dogs chasing stray stock around the bottom paddock. Get ‘em

Hey Count. Does RM not manufacture in China? I'd be surprised.

I don't like the chances of your noble rallying call getting traction. The Sheeple don't ever think about much in the broader context. Our MSM doesn't provide any. "Principle" is largely a foreign concept to the average punter. They don't really give any thought to China apart from the negative view that the Media has effectively propagated. Anything beyond that is well out of mind and the next step for the masses is to saddle their children up when called on by the media to do so. In the meantime Chinese product holds no stigma whatsoever.

I'm reminded of the arrival of Toyota in OZ in the 60s. Ex-Service groups (not the RSL of course) tried to urge consumers to remember the war just 15 years prior and the POWs who suffered in it. We can see how well that battle of sentiment and principle went. No success at all, so much for our ANZAC pride and devotion or deep thought about anything really.

You get what you pay for. Anything made from chinesium I have found doesn't last as long as it should. I do my best to purchase Australian made goods unless the quality is poor.

I love the produce markets we even have in Sydney on a Saturday or Sunday, unfortunately working every second weekend i don't always get the chance to go but when i do i enjoy walking around looking at all the produce on hand and talking to some of the stall holders before purchasing, the veges just last so much longer and aren't really that much dearer than the supermarkets.

Certain RM products made here. Check the tags.
Boots made in Adelaide. Shirt and slacks made in Aus (from Italian cloth!)

There are still a few brands made in Australia plus a whole range of new ones which even I'v not heard of, with ethical credentials. Our company supports one through our charitable foundation with sizeable donations every year. They are based at Newtown and I make a point of buying from them every Christmas.

What products are you talking about?

Food I am not worried about as I can’t wear a pie. Or I can’t watch the footy on my watermelon

Clothes, bags, accessories etc for men, women & children.

I just opened my made in Australia backpack. It's.a lovely blue colour and cost $38 with free postage. Hand made by a small business on Etsy. Good size for travelling. I also have a wooden stand in my bedroom hand made by a craftsman in Kurrajong to hang my necklaces and bracelets instead of having a cheap jewellery box made in China. It also cost around $38. I buy Australian hand made soaps etc also instead of the supermarket brand names made elsewhere. If you look hard enough, you'll find what you are looking for.
