Sydney ferries and catamarans are made in Tasmania.

The latest Emerald class ferries that were bought in to replace the Manly ferries were built in China and the finishing works were done in Port Macquarie.
Interesting that Chris Minns has said the next fleet of trains for Sydney will be built in NSW, lets hope he keeps that promise .

I think he’s told a lot of lies to get elected. I wouldn’t hold my breath on the trains being built in Sydney.
Both parties are guilty of the porky pie tho but I think Labor has pulled the wool a lot harder.

Turns out it was a faulty HDMI cable from JB hifi. More than likely from China.

Its pretty sad as redwhiteblue said there were Australian built fleet of ferries made in Tasmania back in 2016 /17 but the latest Emerald class ones which are having huge problems were manufactured in China and then finished off in Australia, Andrew Constance at the time was trying to spin that they are 70% Australian made which didn't cut the mustard with anyone.

The latest fleet of inter urban trains which are made in Korea could not even fit in some of the tunnels in the Blue Mountains so modifications had to be made to some of the tunnels and stations, even the seats aren't reversible. We had trains built at Rhodes and up in Newcastle that were reliable and hardly missed a beat. Hopefully we can see and Australian fleet built again.

I wonder how many people who are on an anti China crusade that only buy strayan made have been voting for the political party that’s been selling everything off to China

100% mate but sadly, I think the ‘built in Australia’ ship has sailed.

It’s not just that Horrie but also the spin on the term. ‘Built’ is not ‘manufactured’ and that is a massive part of the issue.

Renty, I have good news. Our CEO went to South Australia and visited the Australian Naval Infrastructure which is a government owned organisation. They operate a shipyard where the navy's latest ships and submarines are being built.

More here about how Aus has had a job done on it, not that it wasn't fertile ground for fear mongering.
