    UP FOR CHALLENGE

NRL and English officials have agreed to investigate the possibility of playing an extended World Club Challenge. One option would be for an end-of-season tournament between the top four clubs from NRL and Super League.

Interesting concept. On the surface I like it, but it does present the possibility of a Grand Final re-match mere weeks after the actual event? Dunno, might need another cone for this one.

    Chook.

It would replace those 4 clubs trial matches, I don't have an issue with it.

Perhaps include the winners of the NSW Cup and the Queensland Cup. This would be great promotion for a couple of clubs. If it is played here, I am sure they would be competitive enough against the English teams...

Remember in the early 70s when a 2nd division soccer team (Sunderland) beat Leeds United to win the FA Cup? I was about 10 and I remember it being a phenomenal upset. What you propose could set the stage for a similar drama.

I say why not, So what if there is a grand final replay, so be it !

I say take it one step further, take it to a location like Dubai, those guys are Nuts for big sporting events ! they will pay just about anything ! not only that, it is about half way between the UK and Aus, and the conditions will be constant and something BOTH sides are not used to, so no local advantages.

even if it's a top 3 round robin, 2 pools, play each other once, winner of each pool face off for the World club challenge !

Too hot in Dubai Muzz. But then again... with their wealth, they could probably build a climate controlled indoor stadium!
