As unlikely as it is if the club signed Sam Burgess as head coach to replace Trent Robinson would you support this move as he is a South Sydney icon and was integral to the rivalry in the 2010s? I wouldn't support it and wouldn't like to ever see him associated with the club but you never know what can happen in league.

Surely, this thread has been initiated to stir the pot!
I do not rate him at all yet and that's without disdain for the mob he played for.
Sam is a novice coach and needs to ply his trade for at least another 3 to 4 years with measured success before he could be considered NRL standard.
So many get mesmerised with past player's legend status.
Freddy is another good example of this.
Legend of the game and of our beloved club BUT not quite top shelf.

Are you fishing & seeing what controversial fish you catch?
To try to even answer this I would say I would take Gordon Tallis over Burgess to coach us.

The usual suspects can’t answer a question properly, I’m not surprised. You’re all talking about sacking Trent Robinson without giving an alternatives and one of the biggest stars of our main rival is now a head coach and will look to get back to being in the NRL. It’s a simple question if people could put aside their hatred of Burgess as a player and accept him as head coach of our club. At least Vasco understood the assignment so thanks.

To seriously answer your question - yes if shown he has something in the future as coach then yes i could put aside my personal views of him & accept him as a coach of the Roosters.
I mean if we can sign Lodge, Tetevano...etc.. then what would be the issue with Burgess as coach if he was decent.

I regretfully took a silly nibble.
Definitely a deep fishing expedition .
