I went down to the NRL headquarters
To get your Big League Subscription filled
I was standing in line with Mr. Gallop
And man, did he look pretty ill
We decided that we would have a soda
My favorite flavor, Ciriaco Mescia Red
I read some posts to Mr. Gallop
Yeah, and he said one word to me, and that was "dead"

With thanks to Mick and Keef.

        Thanks David for your efforts.
Must have been a great gig but also a most challenging role with emotional agenda-driven individuals and a few stupid players to manage

Regardless of his NEWS connections I think he has done a very good job under the conditions.

"the game can move on", to where ? most likely to some place where tickets to round games cost $50 and jerseys $300. Foxtel double the price and even more ads on free to air Rugby league.
Or we could expand out to places where the crowds will average 23.
Well said. I also have had dealings with David and people who have know him for many years. I have so much admiration for the way he totally stripped Melbourne of their tainted winnings and was not afraid to do so. He took no prisoners over those disgraceful goings on which made headlines all over the world for the wrong reasons. It's a thankless job and to do it for 10 years must have taken nerves of steel. I hope he has a beer, a pie and a good lie down now. He's far too skinny!

I think Gallop has been a criminal he rorted the game with that piss poor negotiation of the game and this new deal will prove it once and for all.

                Plus he always hated us..lol..
Not true. As Big Arty and myself posted in another thread, he's a Roosters fan from way back. We both have mutual friends from David's uni days who verified this. He's just had to be a professional and be impartial for the last 10 years. How would it have looked if he'd walked around in Easts gear for the last 10 years? Seriously, some people need to get a grip.

I also thank him for getting rid of the dogs in 02 to help us win the premiership!
Looks like the game has aged him. he's only 46 but looks 60!

I had dealings with David Gallops brother when i worked at Waterloo a few years ago and he told me David was always a Roosters supporter, of course with his job he had to be impartial.

                      Agree with you 100%.

Gallop did a very good job under very difficult circumstances.

The Storm salary cap issue would have been a nightmare for him. There would have been immense pressures from within News Ltd to sweep it all under the carpet. To his credit he held firm.
Wish him well and hopefully people will let him move on to whatever he wants to do.
