  • Konrad Hurrell

this kid is carving up, the warriors have produced a superstar here . scoring 11 tries in 12 games , including 2 tonight against the titans only in the first half mind you.. anyone think moga will develop into a player like hurrell..?

Hopefully. I watched a lot of NYC games last year and I knew Hurrell will carve it up. Although I knew he would be slightly better than Moga at first due to the fact that Moga relies on footwork/speed with a bit of power which will take a lot of practice to carve it up in 1st grade because they are much better defenders and Hurrell just uses sheer force and power which is better because players don't get too much bigger in 1st grade compared to NYC.

    imo.

Hurrell see about 10 times the amount of ball Moga does, a better indication will be next year when Moga will have Pearce/Maloney shifting the ball and SBW attracting more defence.

Maloney has been shifting the ball Hurrels way all night long. The only time our centers or wingers see the ball is when they come in for a dummy half dash.

Also how good is maloneys kicking game.

Still needs to learn how to defend, amazing evasion for such a big fella though.

Spot on. Our backs never get the ball in open space but hey thats how smith likes his teams to play, one out one out then ad lib touch football with no depth. very good signing Maloney, great running and kicking game.

Maloney and Hurrell seem to work pretty well together hopefully he can get a similar connection going with Moga

I saw him absolutely smash one of the Titans players tonight Since you said he has done nothing so far in 1st grade he is almost scoring a try a match

hurrell hasn't skipped a beat from nyc to first grade. Moga was the second best player in nyc and has taken much longer to adjust. The good news is that the manly game gave us a small glimpse of the moga potential. He knows his way to the try line even with very limited opportunities.

Smashing someone, contrary to popular belief does not equal good defence. I've always thought the kid was talented, never said otherwise but he's still got a long way to go and hasn't proven much yet.

Size isn't everything, don't forget how quickly Idris/Soliola/Sau all came and went on the scene, all big strong, powerful centres who were never well rounded enough to be great centres. After his initial grace period people will start to pick up on the fact he rarely finsihes games due to fitness/durability, he's poor in defence and lacks the vision and skills to set up his outside man. He's answered the first question of whether he could make the step up physically but there's still so much more him to prove.

I see Hurrell as a future forward...just too big and stocky to remain in the centres I would think.

Moga will have him for speed and mobility every time in the backs...we have the right one.

R6 is still bitter because of the way he talked about Hurrell before he played, and dominated, us..
                              Made him look a fool.
