I find it impossible to go to Midnight Mass once a year, let alone a midnight match !
Maybe the roosters can strike a deal with the Vatican, The christmas midnight Mass match !!!

At a football club, there’s a holy trinity – the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don’t come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques.

The fireworks at the Easter show are making more noise than the crowd tonight

*The ground can be illuminated by candles.
*At halftime, the crowd can line up at the concession stands for communion and wine.
*The trainers can run on with bottles of holy water.
*The sin bin can be converted into a confessional box.

and for your penance my son, you are hereby dammed to hell for all eternity ...or perhaps you'll be given a season ticket to souffs games !
mmmmmm come to think of it, I'll stick with the former as the latter is just to harsh and inhumane !

I am a server at my church (St Francis). I'm doing the midnight next year. But strangely, I was only one of three servers that wasn't doing the midnight mass. I went to bed 12:30am Christmas morning. Later that morning at 10am mass everyone seemed tired. But my grandmother (Who was there and in the choir) did say that the church was more full than the 10am later that morning despite the fact that the 10am, was the main thing.
There was also a Christmas Eve mass. It was chaos! At one point in the mass a child even threw one of those cube things onto the alter. My grandmother even said (she wasn't singing at this one she was handing out those fliers) one man coming in was surprised by the noise and asked her if there was a 6pm without children mass.
My church is only a couple of minutes away from the SFS so for the rabbitohs game and possibly on some other occasions I might be able to go straight from church to the game.

When i was younger i used to love going to midnight mass at St Francis because i would always expect to get home and find santa had visited, funny though the christmas tree still didn't have any presents under it at 1.15am but they would be there when waking up christmas morning.I gave up the midnight mass things years ago, come to think of it i gave up the santa clause things years ago too

Horrie, didn't you know ....due to the time differences around the world and the number of countries Santa must visit, apparently he gets around to us between 2.30 and 3.00am ESD
One of the weirdest ideas I've ever heard. I am up at Midnight all the time but who would really go to a match at Midnight? I only live 10 or so mins away from the ground but as mentioned already in this thread lots of people live an hour or so away. Plus, what would it do to the players? Good thread though.
