  • the islander debate

so ive been seeing a number of you on here saying that the 'islanders' or polynesian players arent worth it in the nrl. i agree to an extent.
i want to point out the sides that have won the premiership since 2006, when 'islanders' starting becoming increasingly common in the nrl.

now, taking this information (that is, no team has won the premiership since 2006 with more than 2 islanders in the team) lets look at how the roosters will line up this weekend.

    anasta
    pearce

also, interesting to note that the last six premierships have been won between 3 coaches: hasler, bennet and bellamy

      None.

      Ergo, the Holocaust didn't happen.

        How about this:

Over the past 5 years, no team won the comp with a player called "Lama".

        Coincidence?

This is ridiculous. Your post made me laugh as soon as you chose not to regard Petero an islander.

This is legitimately racist, talking about islanders like this.

It has occurred to me that every team to win the comp over the past 5 years had their trainers wear earpieces over their right ears, while we have had ours wear them on the left.

Why are we so out of touch with the great sides?

              Interesting.

I have added some additional relevant players:

2006 Broncos: Rupert Murdoch and his band of dead child phone hackers

2007 Storm: Elaborate Salary Cap Cheating Conspiracy, Dirty Cheating Strangling Tackles plus Rupert Murdoch and his band of dead child phone hackers

2009 Storm: Elaborate Salary Cap Cheating Conspiracy, Dirty Cheating Strangling Tackles plus Rupert Murdoch and his band of dead child phone hackers

2010 Steelers: Referees Director Robert Finch pissed off at roosters for sacking his son Brett; initiates "tip sheets" for referees that instruct referees to penalize roosters out of matches; we still make GF; then Tony Archer, Bill Harrigan and mysteriously blind touch judges ramp up the Finch directive to unprecedented levels; plus Rupert Murdoch and his band of dead child phone hackers

Islanders who speak with an Aussie accent are literally Anglo Saxon.

The term Anglo-Saxon is used by some historians to designate the Germanic tribes who invaded and settled the south and east of Britain beginning in the early 5th century and the period from their creation of the English nation up to the Norman conquest. The Anglo-Saxon era denotes the period of English history between about 550 and 1066. The term is also used for the language, now known as Old English, that was spoken and written by the Anglo-Saxons and their descendants in England (and part of southeastern Scotland) between at least the mid-5th century and the mid-12th century.

                        everyone vent your angst.

                        ill provide another example.

                        WAYNE BENNETT.

he is single handedly turning sides around. he is the most RACIST coach in the nrl. he arrives at a club, sends all the islanders packing, bar one or two, say, jeremy smith, and akuila uate, and turns the team into a powerhouse.

he is the most RACIST coach in the nrl. but guess what?
he is the most SUCCESSFUL coach in the nrl.

                        go farkin figure.

Don't be too quick to judge, I don't think he is being a racist at all. His point has some merrit, the makeup of a team which includes, age, nationality and physical attributes all play a part to build a successful team. Some coaches are concerned that majority of Islanders don't have the necessary stamina, discipline and mental toughness to compete for long periods. Some also say the same about Indigenous players, it's each to their own but it is an interesting statistic presented.
