  • MERGED: Storm star Greg Inglis arrested over assault

The Melbourne Storm have been caught up in an off-field scandal, with a high-profile player, believed to be superstar centre Greg Inglis, arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.

Melbourne is understood to have contacted NRL boss David Gallop to advise him of the incident, with officials to decide a course of action after meeting with the club's board.

Victorian police have confirmed that a 22-tear-old man from Altona Meadows was arrested at around midday today as the result of an assault.

He's been charged with recklessly causing injury and unlawful assault, and has been bailed to appear in the Sunshine Magistrates Court on Wednesday August 12.

This carnt better be stood down, NOW.

NatePoo copped 6wks for laying cable.

Turd copped his contract ripped up.

Stewart copped it also. Thats BOTH the faces of the game, LMFAO.

If these News LTD pricks dont act we will all know whats the deal especially after the Wankos and their Teflon ways.

            Bloody hell !!

i am waiting to see how the NRL act on this, considering he is the golden boy !! i wonder if they will axe the NRL promo ad altogether considering both stars, stewart and inglis have both had run ins with violence against women.

Yeah hopefully Slater uppercuts a police officer infront of a nightclub, Cameron Smith runs over a council worker while intoxicated and Craig Bellamy hit by a serious Strep throat infection in the week leading up to our game.

At least the Storm club stood him down immediately, without waiting for the NRL to act.

He's a bloke who's been living on the edge of trouble for a while now, so no surprise he's finally gone one step too far.

Considering the storm officials met with the NRL before they handed down their descision, the outcome would have been descided by both officials there and then.

I'd still sign him up tomorrow if he came on the market.
