I don't agree with that. I think that a coach has the need to prove himself elsewhere. I never thought Bennett would leave Brisbane but he did. Even in AFL I never thought I'd see Sheedy leaving Essendon but he did. I think a club is less tolerant of a coach having a bad season than a player so there's a lot of pressure on them. i think Bellamy will leave the Storm sooner or later.

If you dont give a rats where Bellamy goes why did you comment then?
        The thread is about Bellamy.

I to cant wait for Robbo to begin either, maybe you should start a thread on it so then you dont have to comment on Bellamy.

Disagree. He doesn't have anything left to prove at Melbourne, and he'll parlay his success and his reputation into a huge $$ deal somewhere else. Don't want him here though.

Which team do you actually support? Surely its not the Roosters?

I support Easts and don't want Bellamy. In fact when I hear he has signed elsewhere I will have a small celebration.

                  Is that ok?

Not according to Headless. He's an advocate of Roosters Recruitment 101 - pay shitloads for someone who's done well elsewhere, and expect it to automatically translate into success here.

Don't subscribe to it? You mustn't be a Roosters supporter

thats the thinking of sooooo many people on here that I just can't agree with.

I want to "grow" our own legends...it can be done...dont forget all those who are currently successful started somewhere.

Not at all....it just seems that no matter what the club does (or is said to be doing) in your eyes its the wrong option. You just seem incredibly negative which leads me to question who you actually support?

the point i am making is the only time our club has been successful since 1945 is when it has made astute purchases of big name players. Not over the hill chumps like we usually buy like Mason, O'Meley, Vautin, Dunn (second time), Shearer etc etc.. I agree in principal with developing players but to be successful you need to buy some top draw talent, particularly when you have deficiencies. Manly and the Bulldogs are prime examples of clubs who constantly buy select top line talent to supplement their juniors and it is no surprise they are the most successful Sydney teams.

Brisbane is to a large degree an exception due to their massive junior base but occassionally bring proven players back like Hodges and Hannant. Melbourne is an exception but made no secret when POS was there that they paid absolute top dollar to get the best juniors and had a much bigger budget to do so through the funding from News Ltd. It will be interesting to see how successful they are once Smith, Cronk and Slater eventually retire. Maybe their strategy will change.. The Dragons also showed when signing Bennett the impact of what a top line coach can do. Hopefully we can emulate Souths and Robinson can have a similar impact to Maguire.
