In the battle between the two biggest salary cap cheats in the game's history, I will be cheering for The Storm - simply because The Dogs are obviously cheating the cap again.

How do you figure this? They picked up Inu for next to nothing and some of their other players were no names at the start of the season. If anything, Melbourne are still enjoying the luxury of dealing in stolen merchandise. Just because they cut loose 3 players, doesn't mean the stench doesn't remain, nor does it give them redemption. I can't look at their jersey without feeling ill. It's gonna be a long weekend.....

You might be right, but I can't help but ask questions when you look at the Dogs' capacity to find room for international after international on their roster. As I have pointed out before, I suspect there is some major "third party" rort involving ANZ Stadium going on.
Meanwhile, The Telegraph keeps taking pot shots at the Roosters' salary cap when, apart from two big name signings in the last few years and an exodus of elite players, we have a roster of rookies.
Always remember this too: unlike The Storm, the Bulldogs were allowed to keep - and even build on - its illegally assembled team. When we were beaten in 2004, they had this team in tact on the field.

Exactly! Melb were punished far more severly than the ScumDogs, who were not stripped of a premiership, just premiership points. And were then allowed to keep the players they'd rorted the cap with so they could win a title with the same squad 2 years later.
No having to shed a few players to prove they were under the cap in 2003 on. They would never have close in 2003 or won in 2004 if they had.
The ScumDogs must be close or over the cap now, given quite a few in their roster would not have come cheap, despite what Greenburg and News Ltd will tell you. But I have no doubt they will contine to sign what they would like us to believe are 'bargains' who are apparenly prepared to play for next to nothing just to get the opportunity at the ScumDogs under Hasler - the king of backended contracts, just ask Manly who are now paying for the contracts he negotiated a few years ago.

Come on mighty Hawks!!!! One of our young players, Breust, apparently trialed with the Cowboys and is the cousin of Trent Barrett. As for the league, hate the Storm slightly less so I hope they win. in other words, the Melbourne double.
I was going for the Swans but I didn't think they would win the GF. Congratulations to them. They obviously have a very good coach? this is his 2nd season as coach isn't it?
So for the NRL GF I am going for the Storm & I think the Storm will win. Doggies are in with a real show now.
