Wasn't one of the carrots Tinkles dangled in front of "the man of his word" was use of his private jet?

Poor ole Wayne will have to fly cattle class soon. I cannot help but LMFAO!!

    Chook.

I hope Tinkler & the Knights get through all of this & everything continues to roll on for them.

I dont know the situation about how the Knights are run but I hope that if anything sour did happen to Tinkler & his money that the Knights survive. Rugby League has to have a club in Newcastle IMO.

Why does RL need a club in Poocastle???

The game survived for 78 odd years without them.

IMO the games beyond needing any club, us included.

We should all look after ourselves, be tribal, and remember it's all a cycle, some just have bigger wheels than others.

I hate the love people give Poocastle, like Souffs and Watsamatta and the Tigpies. Soft fuzzy 2nd team love feasts don't do it for me.

It's all about the HATE baby.

Hey my 2nd fav is UP up Cronulla.

I dont have a 2nd team I just want the League to be strong in the Hunter area because it is a League stronghold & I would hate to see soccer or possibly Unuion take over that stronghold. That area provides a lot of players to all the clubs.

They've been playing RL in the Hunter for more than 100 years mate whether they've had a first grade side or not, the other sports are just for mums who don't want little Johnny to lose a fingernail on the field.

I do agree though, it's a traditional RL area like the Illawarra, deserves a club.

I just never feel sorry for any team, cos I know damn well when we are down every club would gladly stick the slipper in. I love the HATE, both ways.

Yeah fair call, I'm more glad it's happening to Wayne than the Knights anyway.

The Tax Office has moved to wind up the Newcastle Knights and the Newcastle Jets, along with their parent company the Hunter Sports Group, over unpaid debts of some $2.7 million, as owner Nathan Tinkler's debt problems continue to mount.

Documents filed on Wednesday in the Federal Court in Sydney show the Deputy Commissioner of Taxation is applying for the wind-up of Hunter Sports Group (owing $184,258), Newcastle Jets Pty Ltd (owing $1.063 million) and Newcastle Knights Pty Ltd (owing $1.424 million).

The applications have been set down for hearing on February 20.

I suppose the ARL will step in to pick up the Knoughts debt or will they, they let Souffs go, Bears & Jets anyone?? Will be very interesting, maybe the Central Coast Bears could step in??

                      The Knaughts will survive.
If the Sharks could survive for long, and they were in way more debt than the Knaughts, then No-castle are safe, as such.

Wishful thinking, I've heard Rusty will still support Souths with financial support and the wealthy juniors will takeover the footy club, they have more money than Rusty does and want to cash in on Souths new footy Membership of 22,000 members. I think Souths are here to stay, unfortunately.

That runs out in january mate after that they get nothing, there was suppose to be an independant audit done before the garantee expires but Tinkler has push the audit for Feb and I cant believe the club will accept that. Basically he knows he can get a green light from the auditors thus loose the 20mill but it appears the knights will let that slip away.

The bank guarantee has been extended to after the audit, which means the club can draw on it if Tinkler has breached any fundings.
The bank guarantee changes from 20 mill to 10 mill after the extension period!
