Israel Folau to play rugby union in Europe instead of returning to the NRL with Parramatta..
Israel Folau is set to announce he is leaving Australia to play rugby union overseas.
The decision is an embarrassing blow for the NRL after the former Test star quit the AFL and Greater Western Sydney, in the hope of returning to rugby league.
Folau’s ambition was to join the Parramatta, but Titan management have convinced the former Test star to head overseas after the NRL refused to register a contract with the Eels for next season.
The NRL are expected to release a press statement confirming the decision this afternoon.
my tip is quade coopere will join him until he comes to the nrl next season with his mate sbw? this is a good move for folou who will ease himself back into body contact after a bludge at afl?
This guy is pretty good at turning his back on anyone. First it was NSW, rugby league, AFL, rugby league again.... Give him a year or two and will come crawling back to the NRL. He has little respect for those who have helped him to get where he is. If he was in acting, I'd say, 'break a leg.'

Yep I agree with that. Very silly of the NRL to not have the capacity to take advantage of these guys.
Will be pretty funny if the players get their way and the cap is increased by about 500k for 2013.
Parra are kidding if they think they're going to fit Tamou, Folau & Hopoate into their cap next year.
Pretty sure I heard this morning that the cap has been increased by only $200k, which will make it $5.2 million for 2013, not sure about future increases.
This is only my opinion but I couldnt care less what Folau is up to if he is off earning millions good luck to him.
But once he realises that Union doesn't do it for him either, he will be back to the League.
I always like hearing older players who are in the Willie Mason part of there career come out with "I would play at this level for free" Once they realise that the game is about to pass them they become very loyal to the game.
I understand about sportspeople wanting a better deal...all good and go to that club which offers more but this guy has no sense of loyalty to a sport and any other code should be wary about their investment on this 'nice' guy cause he'll be off to whom ever offers him more tomorrow. Perhaps Cirque Du Soleil is another option for him though I'm not sure if they have clowns.
