Yes he has. He won the Jersey Flegg GF with Soward back in the early 00s. Bellamy wasn't in charge of any side on a full time basis before taking on the Storm so your argument is futile.

All clubs at some point take a punt on unproven first grade coaches (as most organisations do with young talent coming through - they have to start somewhere). I'm not saying he will definitely be successful mun but you must admit he's had a great record with what's been given to him. He certainly knows what it takes to be a winner as his whole career (playing and coaching) has been littered with success.

I mean full time coaching of a real team....not a bunch of children.
I never said you need to be in charge of a side fulltime before being a first grade coach. So mentioning Bellamy is not relevant.
I am just trying to put emphasis on the fact that Pay is not tested. The buck stops with the boss. Not the assistant.

I'm not worried about Parra. My original comment was about getting him in as our first grade coach. My view was that he had the credentials but I'm not privy to any inside info like you mun so there must have been a reason why his name never came up in the backroom.

Think you will find it was with Joe Williams not Soward. Pay was back home in Dubbo by the time Soward came on the scene.

Big stretch from coaching kids part time to managing an entire club. If Pay had the ambition to do that, he would have had a crack by now. I think he is happy being in the back ground.

I get the feeling Pay has no desire to be a head coach, he seems to like the idea of picking up maybe 150k to 200k a year to assist the bloke who has all the pressure.
